(Clearwisdom.net) Greetings, fellow practitioners.
You know roughly what happened in the persecution of your family members; I am only going to discuss some of my understandings about the persecution from the Fa's perspective.
It is a given that we firmly negate any kind of persecution by the old forces and we must use the best available methods to expose it. Opposing the persecution needs to be done--it is a Fa requirement--to really break through the arrangements of the old forces.
The persecution is just one of the old forces' arrangements. Others include ways of cultivation and Fa-rectification. Therefore, it is not enough to pay attention only to the persecution; we must also negate all arrangements by the old forces. How can we achieve this goal?
We must, I think, abide by the requirements of Dafa in everything we do, which includes the purpose, how we think about it as we do it, and the final result.
Exposing the persecution itself is not the reason why we do this; saving sentient beings is the great mission of Dafa disciples. Therefore, regardless of whether we reopen a court case to correct an injustice against Falun Gong or whether we seek help from people overseas, the main thing is saving sentient beings.
It is understandable that you don't want your family to worry too much and that you want to reduce their suffering, but this kind of human affection only encourages more persecution by the old forces.
If you plan to attract public attention while clarifying the truth, this kind of righteous thought without fear deserves recognition. But cultivation is not only to get rid of the problem of fear. Lots of other attachments are also dangerous--such as doing things for the sake of doing things, trying to prove that you have no fear, and pursuing results like everyday people. Therefore, under these circumstances, any action to oppose the persecution is without a doubt a serious test for our xinxing. Isn't this a human notion if we rely on overseas influence?
As for exposing the evil, there are many ways to do so. One is personally explaining the facts to people--this is the best and the most direct way to help people understand the truth so that they can be saved. Another way is to expose the evil through the Internet. These are the things that fellow practitioners in our area have done to raise the level of our xinxing as a whole, so that we may be able to compassionately save people. Exposing the evil just to expose the evil doesn't really meet the full requirements of the Fa, nor does reducing the pain of family members in and of itself.
I don't personally propose opposing the persecution through overseas efforts. Between 2003 and 2004, two overseas practitioners were arrested before we could reach them. We should rely on our own righteous thoughts and righteous actions. A grand, vigorous and spectacular scale will not be manifested in this dimension of human beings. As long as we meet the requirements of the Fa, it is okay to use any method to clarify the truth.
If we have people from overseas participate, as far as time, space, and negotiations go, more procedures make it more difficult to expose the evil, and more manpower is needed to keep up with things. We need every participating practitioner to keep up with the requirements of the Fa in order to be more effective. Financial costs and practical goals should be taken into consideration, as well. Practical goals should include mainly whether we will be able to make people understand the truth and whether we will be able to save them.
There are big events taking place everywhere, including in Hebei Province, which is a dynamic manifestation in the human world. But we still have to consider things carefully, thinking ahead to what the practical results will be. Will the result be less than our investment? Will fellow practitioners suffer losses but end up having greater superficial influence? Or do we save quite a few people without any losses to fellow practitioners with no obstacles in saving sentient beings? All these should be taken into consideration.
When divine beings do things, they first consider all the aspects, not just one side, and are not hindered by solely the results. During this final stage of Fa-rectification, we Dafa practitioners should do better at rationally considering problems.
Why are some practitioners who have very little attachment to fear still persecuted? Why are some practitioners who are not afraid of being laid off still persecuted? We do not recognize the old forces' persecution, but this mere thought of ours isn't enough. We still have to find where our attachments lie. Finding our attachments is not acknowledging the old forces. Without Falun Dafa, can we find the human notions that are hindering us? We should look within ourselves as required by the Fa, not based on any standard of the old forces. Looking within ourselves is not to temporarily get rid of the pain of the persecution. It is a requirement for a practitioner. When the attachments are found and let go, the persecution will cease to exist.
The persecution of some solid fellow practitioners is not necessarily due to the problem of fear. It is still, I think, a matter of responsibility, one's state of mind, and the purpose of truth clarification. For some practitioners who have been detained and persecuted for a long time, it is easier for them to think about the persecution as involving humans against humans. So, when they do things to oppose it, they tend to act more like humans working against a totalitarian regime and have an oppositional state of mind. Because they refused to be "transformed," they built up a state of mind with an emotion that opposed the regime and the people carrying out the persecution. This state of mind must be changed. It is a good opportunity to save sentient beings.
Since we are not afraid of death, why not save people right there? I remember a particular article published on the Minghui website. Because he distributed VCDs of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, an older practitioner was persecuted. At his trial were many police officers, and he seized the opportunity to clarify the facts to everyone in the courtroom. He was released without actually seeking that result. This was a reflection of his cultivated status.
Of course, there is no role model in cultivation. Personal situations differ greatly, and I wouldn't suggest blindly copying what he did. However, we should always look to save people. It's easier said than done. There's often no Fa in prison to read, which makes cultivation very difficult. Fellow practitioners around there should have a clear understanding.
I think it would be better to find a way to let fellow practitioners in prison better understand the principles of the Fa, while family members, nearby practitioners, and local practitioners continually clarify the facts about the persecution to local people, and also expose the persecution on the Internet, where the security of fellow practitioners and their ability to handle pressure should also be taken into consideration.
In addition to what I stated above, if conditions allow, we should collect evidence on the persecution, saving the evidence on computer files along with pictures. Technically skilled practitioners can send the files to Minghui.
Family members could find a way to go abroad, where they could better expose the persecution. They could file lawsuits against the people responsible for the persecution in countries outside of China. All these suggestions cover a wide range of matters, and careful consideration of how to use such options is up to the individuals involved.
