On September 27, 2008, Wuhou District Court in Chengdu City convened an illegal session against nine practitioners. The court did not allow any of their relatives to attend the hearing, but distributed all of the hearing certificates to 610 Office personnel, then claimed it would be a "public session".
On July 31, 2008, the police in Laixi City, Shandong Province, arrested 17 Falun Gong practitioners. The arrested practitioners were interrogated and beaten. Some of them have been sentenced to forced labor camp.
In June of 2008, Mr. Wu was sentenced to forced labor for one and half years. He is not allowed visitors. This is Mr. Wu's second imprisonment in a labor camp since 1999.
People on the Falun Gong and other 'lists' are not allowed to travel in China during the Olympic period.

Dong Liantai, a farmer in Zhengjiu Village, was brutally tortured in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City and died on September 19, eight days after he was sent home.
