(Clearwisdom.net) Because twin brothers Mr. Cong Ming and Mr. Cong Liang from Dadong District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province practice Falun Gong, they have been subjected to persecution by the Chinese Communist Party for the past nine years. Mr. Cong Ming was illegally sentenced to nine years of imprisonment in 2001, and he is still in prison. His brother Mr. Cong Liang was arrested and imprisoned on August 10, 2008. Their mother was left alone with no one to look after her. She died in early November 2008.
On the evening of August 10, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cong Liang in Shenyang City was arrested at home by police from the Dadong District Police Department. According to his mother, Mr. Cong Liang went downstairs to lock up his car. After about ten minutes, she heard a group of people outside rush upstairs and pound on her door. As soon as she opened the door, more than twenty plainclothes police officers swarmed into her house, confiscated her family's property, and stole several personal items including a computer and printer, valued at over 10,000 yuan.
Afterward, it was learned that Mr. Cong Liang's mother was living alone in a crude, one-story hut. Because there was no heating equipment, the hut was unusually cold. She eventually fell ill from the poor conditions and anxiety and worry about her sons. The landlord was afraid that she might die in the hut, and asked her to leave. It was said that Mr. Cong Liang's mother died at her daughter's home.
Mr. Cong Liang is currently imprisoned at the detention center in Dadong District, Shenyang City. His brother Mr. Cong Ming was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment in 2001, and was imprisoned first at Wafangdian Prison in Dalian City, and then transferred to Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City in December 2007.
