(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wu Di, in her 40s, was formerly employed by the Suining County Farming Machinery Factory in Jiangsu Province. She began practicing Falun Dafa around 1996, and benefited from it both physically and spiritually. After the persecution started in 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal and was detained by the Beijing Detention Center, the Xuzhou City Liaison Office in Beijing, the police station and detention center under the Suining County Police Department, and the Judong Womens' Forced Labor Camp. She suffered severe mistreatment. Her employer fired her, her husband was forced to divorce her, and her daughter has become estranged from her.
In March 2001, Ms Wu Di and ten other female practitioners were taken by force to the Xuzhou City Chaping Mental Hospital. In this facility, drugs harmful to the central nervous system were administered to the practitioners against their will. If they refused to submit, the hospital staff would hold them down, force open their mouths, and make them swallow the drugs. Once the drugs took effect and damaged their nervous system, they would need the physical support of others to stabilize them in order to even use the toilet. Their hands and legs trembled. They stared blankly, drooled, and had difficulty moving their necks. The forced administration of these toxic drugs disrupted the menstrual cycle of some of the practitioners. Practitioners were not allowed to have visits from their family members, and they were isolated from society for more than ten months. In 2002, she was arrested and sentenced to prison for exposing the persecution and promoting Falun Gong. She was tortured to the point of mental collapse in the Fourth Ward of the Nanjing City Women's Prison. Upon returning home in 2007, Suining City 610 Office chief Yang Shuguang and Domestic Security Division Chief Li Jun have repeatedly harassed her, followed her, and threatened her. At around 11 p.m. on November 10, 2008, she went missing, and her family found her body drowned in the Cheng River. Her family cremated her body on November 12
Though what happened on November 10 is unclear, the torture that she suffered in so many facilities, especially in the Xuzhou City Mental Hospital and prison, led to her death by destabilizing her mental state and harming her physically.
