Psychiatrist: The Show Helps Give New Life to Chinese Traditional Culture
Psychiatrist Ms. Lavoll and her husband Dr. Bob Edger and their friend Dr. Roguska (right) all liked the wonderful show
Ms. Lavoll is a psychiatrist. She came with her husband Dr. Bob Edger and their friend Dr. Roguska. They accepted an interview during intermission and highly praised to the show.
Ms. Lavoll said the show was excellent, and she loved it. She said she didn't know anything about Falun Gong before, but she has learned a little bit through the show. She said, "I can tell why the Chinese Communist Party is scared of Falun Gong; it spreads good information." She also added that there was so much Chinese traditional culture in the show which was destroyed in the Cultural Revolution. Even teachers were defamed at that time period. "I think this show can help traditional culture recover."
Dr. Edger told enthusiastically journalists, "The dancing was so beautiful. I was impressed by how relaxed they were. They were not only very well controlled, but they were also full of life, very dynamic. Chinese music is so different with western music. I love the spiritual content in Chinese music."
Dr. Roguska stated, "The dances' technique and spiritual level were both very high. The dances and costumes are all very aesthetically pleasing."
Clothing Company Designer: In One Word: Perfect
Ms. Joan Remely is a designer employed by the Ivan Clothing Company. "This show is so elegant and mighty! Everything is perfect, and each program is so lovely. I told myself after the first program, 'this is my favorite.' Then I kept saying the same thing for the next program. It is impossible to choose which the best from perfect programs, for they are all simply excellent."
Ms. Remely described the beauty of Divine Performing Arts as beauty formed by all dimensions combined, "The costumes transformed into dances, so the costumes were dances as well; each program's music harmonized with the dance, and the backdrops is also melted into the dance, so the backdrop was also part of the dance. In one word, it was simply perfect!"
"Expresses History, Dignity, and Hope"
Ms. Remely said she understood the inner meanings of the dances with the help of hosts and background captions, but the inner meanings were also hard to express with words, "I do not know how to explain, but I can simply feel it. I felt what they were trying to manifest, and I can perfectly imagine the realms of their movement. All these stories are expressing concepts of history, dignity, and hope. I cannot express it clearly, but I felt like I understood while watching the show, but it is hard to describe with words now."
Executive: Explanations of Eastern Culture and Gods and Buddhas are Humbling
Mr. Bob Zmbozuti is an executive in the transportation business. He said, "I think this show is very beautiful: the dancing was beautiful, the colors were very fine and interesting. This show has such a different cultural background compared to mine, so I was so happy to observe a different culture. They used dances to explain Eastern culture, which is very interesting."
Mr. Zmbozuti continued, "The most impressive things to me were all those colors, the language they used, the songs they sung, and the expressions they used, for they were all very moving. Although I have a different cultural background, I can still understand these stories and the inner meaning of the dances, especially the performance of 'Divine Path.' It was wonderful to see the Gods and Buddhas receive the man in heaven after he was tortured to death."
Mr. Zmbozuti added, "Speaking from spiritual level, I am totally foreign to this setting, especially to Buddhism, I don't know much about it. I can see the similarities between Buddhism and my religion: Christianity. The common ground is they all believing in God. God created these beautiful things, these moving songs, pretty colors, landscapes, etc. Gods and Buddhas are both worth being worshiped."
