Music Professor Li Delin, dean of the Art School at the National University of Tainan, believes that the Chinese Spectacular will help improve the level of Taiwan's performing arts.
Professor Li told the reporter that the show was high-class and the details meticulous. He was very much moved by the care put into the show. During the first half, he particularly enjoyed the dance, "The Risen Lotus Flower." He said, "The story of the 'The Risen Lotus' has the fairies descending from heaven, and the music and dance was woven together painstakingly. The change of costumes from modern to classical style was done very well, and it was not easy. My heart was so deeply touched that I almost cried. I love this performance very much."
Professor Li has been attending the Divine Performing Arts show every year since it started coming to Tainan. He said every time he has seen the show, he has had different feelings. He indicated that Taiwan's future artistic development can learn a lot from the DPA, especially its superb performance and special music. He said that while Taiwan should not oppose popular music, the high-class performance of the DPA show deserves to be promoted. He believes that would bring a positive thrust to Taiwan's artistic activities in the future.
Professor Li also said, "Today I came with the president of my university and other friends. We all felt strongly about the show. We were really moved."
