(Clearwisdom.net) Xi'an City Brainwashing Center is operated by the 610 Office of the Xi'an City Committee, the Xi'an City Police Department, and the Xi'an City Security Bureau, and was specially set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. In late 2007, because of the CCP's 17th Congress, many practitioners were illegally arrested and taken to the brainwashing center. They are Ms. Nie Aiju, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, Ms. Gui Ju, Ms. Chen Cuizhen, Ms. Liao Min, Ms. Lu Xiuling, Ms. Huo Meilian, Ms. Zhang Mingliang, Ms. Chen Fayuan, Ms. Liu Aiying, Ms. Xu Zhili, Ms. Wang Jiali, Ms. Li Guiqing, Ms. Chen Mingan, Ms. Li Guiqing, Mr. and Mrs. Li Zhirong, Ms. Wang Tong, Ms. Wang Dong, Ms. Huang Rujun, Ms. Yan Anfang, Mr. Zhou Yanping, Mr. Su Haiping, Mr. Li Heping,Ms. Wang Juan, Mr. Jiang Weidong, Ms. Qi Ping, Ms. Li Xueqing, Ms. Zhou Suying, Ms. Zhang Xianglian, Mr. Song Zhi, Ms. Xuan Yanru, and Ms. Chen Baifang. Among them Ms. Chen Cuizhen and Ms. Zhang Xianglian were transferred to the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp.
On the afternoon of October 19, 2007, officers of the Lianhu District Police Department in Xi'an City arrested Ms, Zhang Xianglian and searched her home. They seized some expensive equipment and a lot of cash. They thought they had destroyed a big material site. The Lianhu District Police Department, which is the unit directly responsible, was rewarded 300,000 yuan cash.
In the brainwashing center, the practitioners were forced to watch videos and read books with content slandering Falun Gong and Teacher Li. They were also forced to write the so-called guarantee statement. Those who refused to cooperate were tortured with many means, such as being locked up in a small cell, being deprived of sleep during long-term brainwashing sessions, having lights shined in their face and being forced to eat food mixed with drugs which caused practitioners to become bewildered, and to feel dizzy and nervous. For the practitioners that supposedly knew some details that the evildoers were interested in, they were fixed onto an iron chair, had lights shining their face for extended periods of time, and were deprived of sleep during continuous interrogation. Consequently, a 20-year-old male practitioner became unable to walk. Moreover, the evildoers forced practitioners to bear all expenses of the persecution. Some family members who tried to rescue practitioners out of the brainwashing center had large amounts of money extorted from them.
A while ago, the authorities of Xi'an City Police Department issued a new policy that each police department and police station are not allowed to interrogate arrested practitioners, but should transfer them to the brainwashing center for interrogation. Therefore, the brainwashing center is not only for brainwashing, but also place of brutal interrogation by torture.
Recently, the "610 Office" drafted a "blacklist" of several dozen practitioners' names, plotting to arrest them and detain them until October when the Olympic Games are over. It is said that this plot was deployed by the CCP's Central Committee, and when the CCP's two Congresses or National Political and Judiciary Work Conferences are done, the plot would be carried out.
We appeal to all people, governments and international organizations who uphold justice to pay attention and stop the CCP's evil attempt to persecute kindhearted people, violate human rights, and destroy human morals using the Olympic Games as an excuse.
