On April 25, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners from West Australia held an activity in front of the Chinese Consulate to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the April 25th Appeal, when tens of thousands of practitioners arrived at the central government compound in Beijing to ask the government for fair treatment. The government's response on July 20, 1999, was a full-scale persecution.
Practitioners distributed truth-clarifying materials and collected many signatures against the persecution.
