(Clearwisdom.net) Recently I experienced something that let me further understand Teacher's words, "The only thing you have a role in is saving people..." ("Teaching the Fa in Chicago"). I realized that these words contain Teacher's deep expectations and requirements for Dafa disciples. It also encompasses Teacher's boundless benevolence to, and care for, every life in the world.
I created my own web blog a few years ago and have maintained it since. I post classic stories about traditional culture, which I carefully select and edit from the Minghui website, the Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net, and other sources. I believe these stories influence people positively as they seek the high ground of morality and justice. The more moralistic material people put into their heads, the easier it is to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to them. I have given out the address of my blog to many friends and coworkers.
A young man who is a former colleague is a frequent visitor to my blog. I had many bad notions about him though: he looked unattractive, had a bad temper, and enjoyed talking about sexual stuff. I regarded him as a totally disgusting person and had never thought of clarifying the truth to him. However, to my surprise, he posted most the comments on my blog and urged me to post new materials if I hadn't updated it for a while. I had never thought the stories about ethics, etiquette and the principle that goodness begets goodness and that evil will be punished would be so attractive to him. I started to change my view about him. And all of sudden I realized that I had only seen his shortcomings and overlooked the fundamental point that he also came for the Fa. I needed to save him. I found him in a chat room on the web right after that.
I did not have a good way to start clarifying the truth to him, because the Internet censorship makes it is hard for people in China to talk about it in a chat room. After chatting with him for a few moments, I decided to give him the Dongtaiwang software that lets people access websites that are blocked by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Surprisingly, he replied back to me "Your majesty, thank you for your great generosity!" even before he saw what I sent to him.
I was shocked by this incident. I almost missed a person with such a predestined relationship as he because of my human notions. At that moment, I had a total new understanding of Teacher's Fa "The only thing you have a role in is saving people..." ("Teaching the Fa Chicago").
Some time later, we chatted on the web again. I asked, "Have you used the thing that I gave you?" He replied, "I use it every day. I have the latest copy. Do you want it?" I laughed and asked, "Have you quit the CCP?" He replied that he quit it in his heart a long time ago. I said, "Let me create a name for you to formally announce that you are quitting it." He happily said yes.
Many people may have created a lot of karma in their ignorance and lost the beauty and purity that they had when they were in heaven. Hence, they may look unattractive, they may have a lot of attachments, they may have a lot of faults in the human world, and they may have hurt Dafa disciples. However, in our heart, they are just people with predestined relationships. They have gone through all the challenges to come to the Dharma-ending human world. They deserve a chance to be saved!
I think that we should not have any human notions when trying to save people. Moral standards have slipped so badly that everyone has created endless karma without realizing it. People are living with distorted human notions and all kinds of evil. But as long as they live in the world, they ought to be given a chance to be saved. As Teacher does not hold sentient being's past faults against them, we should let go all our existing notions about people, good or bad, when saving them. Even if they have hurt us before, we have no right to give up on them or other sentient beings in the world.
