(Clearwisdom.net) On May 28, Falun Gong practitioners from Washington, D.C., held a press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy. Practitioners condemned Zhou Yongkang, a member of central committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), for ordering spies in the US to violently attack Falun Gong in Flushing, New York. Practitioners also asked the American government to deport the Chinese consul in New York, Peng Keyu, who organized the hostile attack in Flushing.
Mr. Zhang, the spokesman at the press conference, said that the CCP lied in its official media, claiming that Falun Gong practitioners interfered with donations for earthquake victims in China, thereby instigating hatred toward Falun Gong.
The press conference
Mr. Liu, a Falun Gong practitioner from D.C., said that many practitioners, himself included, donated to the victims of the earthquake in China.
Mr. Liu said that the CCP has been persecuting Falun Gong for nine years, and thousands of practitioners are jailed. Mr. Liu asked where the CCP gets the money to keep up the persecution. "The money is from the taxpayers in China, but Falun Gong practitioners use their own money to hold anti-persecution activities and clarify the truth," said Mr. Liu. He called upon the Chinese people to learn the truth and recognize that the CCP and China are not one and the same.
Dr. Lai Shantao, a representative from the Falun Dafa Association in D.C., said Falun Gong practitioners encourage people to quit the CCP, because they believe it is the best way to avoid disasters and save China. Dr. Lai said, "Practitioners try to save people, when they themselves are being persecuted. How could they ignore the victims of the earthquake in China?"
During the press conference and the rally, Ms. Donna Ware was holding a display board that exposed the CCP's brutality.
She said, "The attack in Flushing should not have happened in the US. As an American, I care about the victims of the earthquake in China. My fellow practitioners also care about them. They are from China, and they have relatives and friends in China. Of course they care about them. How can people be deceived by the CCP?"
Ms. Ware, who has been practicing Falun Gong for eight years, said she is a witness to the persecution. She quoted Martin Luther King and said that Americans will lose their freedom if they don't fight for people who don't have freedom in their countries.
"The CCP lies and instigates hatred. We should not let them get away with it. We must stand up and stop the persecution."
Ms. Wang of Virginia said, "During the natural disaster, the CCP took this chance to stir up hatred and attack Falun Gong." She asked: "Is attacking Falun Gong in Flushing helpful to those who are suffering as a result of the earthquake?"
Mr. Zhang, the spokesman at the press conference, said the Chinese consul in New York, Peng Keyu, has admitted in a telephone conversation that he was involved and that he directed the violent attack in Flushing. This means that the CCP is playing a major role in the whole incident.
Mr. Guo of D.C. said that Falun Gong practitioners have been holding activities in Flushing almost every day for four years. He said practitioners have been holding banners that read "Heaven Eliminates the CCP" for a long time. He pointed out that these banners were not made after the earthquake.
Ms. Ge, the representative from the Service Center for Quitting the Party in D.C., said that there is much evidence that the victims in China are not only suffering from the natural disaster, but also from the corrupt practices of the CCP. She said that the CCP is not the same as China and that the CCP is the origin of the disasters in China. She called on the Chinese people to quit the Party to rescue themselves.
Ms. Ge finally said, "We are collecting evidence that the CCP orders spies in the US to incite hatred and attack Falun Gong. We call upon those that know the details to stand up and expose the evil deeds of the CCP."
