(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of April 2008, Divine Performing Arts again came to perform in western Canada. Fayun, a Buddhist nun, followed in the footsteps of Divine Performing Arts from Vancouver to Calgary and then to Edmonton. She saw the performance 11 times in row. Why was it that a person whose mind has already gone beyond the secular world was so enthusiastic about the Divine Performing Arts performance? She initially refused the request for an interview, saying that she preferred a quiet cultivation environment. However, after she saw the performance multiple times, she finally agreed to talk about her understanding of and experiences with the performances.
Nun Fayun
Combining the Essence of Art in Chinese Culture from Ancient Times to the Present
Fayun said, "I have seen the performance many times. I have been thinking: 'Why was the first program placed first? Then the second, the third, the fourth, and so on. Why were they arranged as they were?' This was not simply human logic. This arrangement contained great, miraculous principles.
"I realized that the first program already tells the audience the primary content and meaning of the entire performance. It was ages ago when many gods and Buddhas came down to the human world with the Lord of the lords to save sentient beings and be gods for one thousand years. The entire historical culture of one thousand years was demonstrated in the performance. In the short two hours of the show, it covered the history, culture and art from the Dynasties of Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing--until the 21st Century. It demonstrated everything completely. Every performance was so elegant and graceful. This is something that no one has ever done and could not do before. I could not help but be amazed and admire this great wisdom."
The Fruits of Goodness
"This is a special performance combining traditional and modern culture. 'The Fruits of Goodness' presents the long history, the great, vast and profound Buddha Fa using a topic from today and in a straightforward way. It tells the story of two wayward youths being saved due to a little kindness in their hearts. It tells people that as long as you still have kindness in your heart, as long as you have the wish to cultivate, Buddha will save you. It vividly manifests the profound Buddha principles. The great Way is that simple and easy. It is Buddha's immense compassion!
"In fact, every performance, every arrangement has its own meaning and wisdom. It shows the Buddha's expectation of the salvation of sentient beings."
Udumbara Flowers Blossom
"According to Buddhist scriptures, the blossoming of Udumbara flowers signals that the Holy King Who Turns the Wheel has come to the human world to save sentient beings. In fact, many people have heard about this. Cultivators have been waiting for this. It is just that nobody knows when and where this is going to happen. Everybody has been waiting in the maze. We did not know that Udumbara flowers have blossomed all over the world. We did not know that the true Buddha has come to us. Karmic debts and notions have blocked this message from us. This is unfortunate.
"However, it is the Buddha's immense compassion! Buddha is using different ways to awaken sentient beings' hearts. Buddha is using the Divine Performing Arts' performance--this holy artistic scripture--to manifest the Buddha Fa. As long as you come here, as long as you join the performance, you will find what you like, you will be saved.
"The simple question is: 'Can you join?' There are tens of thousands of people in this city. However, only these several thousand people are fortunate enough to come to the performance. Can you grasp this precious moment and opportunity? It is such a pity that even for me as a cultivator, I did not know this before. I have lived in the maze for so long. I finally got to know about Divine Performing Arts this year..." (Fayun is in tears.) "What kind of predestined relationship made me walk into the performance? I have to say it is Buddha's benevolence, Buddha's immense compassion that gave me this opportunity."
A Bright Light
"I have seen the great success of the performance around the world. I have seen sentient beings being shocked, moved, and benefited. I have great confidence and hope for the salvation of sentient beings because I believe that everybody who has seen the performance is moved. Whether their understanding is deep or not so deep, Divine Performing Arts has planted the seed of kindness. Someday, we will see the seeds sprout, blossom, and fruit.
"Divine Performing Arts has established its reputation on the international stage, which, in fact, is a bright light leading sentient beings. After seeing this performance many times, I felt the great Buddha's benevolent power from Divine Performing Arts. It is enormous and powerful. I believe that in the future, Divine Performing Arts will become the main source of saving sentient beings. Therefore, I hope the Buddha light of Divine Performing Arts illuminates the world and has all sentient beings follow this brightness and gain salvation.
"From Divine Performing Arts, I have found many of my shortcomings. I have broken through many roadblocks on my cultivation path and have risen to a higher level. I have not felt such a strong confidence in my cultivation for a very long time. I have never felt such a boundless hope for sentient beings. I have never felt so sure and steady. This is the true pleasure and peace of truly walking on the cultivation path and truly understanding what the principles are.
"Divine Performing Arts makes me feel that Buddha is just next to me! This is Buddha's infinite grace! Great Buddha! I only have gratitude, gratitude, and more gratitude."
