1. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrests of Ms. Fu Xiufen and Ms. Pao Siyu

Officers from the Yonghong Police Station arrested Ms. Fu Xiufen and Ms. Pao Siyu from Jianshan District, Shuangyashan City, as the two practitioners distributed Falun Gong materials in Maanshan City on July 21, 2008. They held the practitioners at the Shuangyashan City Detention Center.

Fu Xiufen's husband went to the Yonghong Police Station on the evening of July 21 to inquire about his wife. The police took away his cell phone and forced him into a police car. They forced another practitioner, Pao Siyu, get into a different police vehicle and subsequently ransacked Pao Siyu and Fu Xiufen's homes. They confiscated photos of Falun Gong's founder from Fu Xiufen's home, along with Lecture VCDs, Falun Gong VCDs, exercise tapes, a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and some pamphlets.

The same officers ransacked Pao Siyu's parents and her husband's parents' home, as well as Fu Xiufen's husband's parents' home at 8:30 p.m. on July 22. Pao Siyu was taken to a detention center in the evening and Fu Xiufen was taken there on the morning of July 23.

2. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yanhua and Ms. Pan Arrested

The police arrested Ms. Liu Yanhua and Ms. Pan on the afternoon of July 23, 2008, as they handed out Falun Gong flyers near the Cuiluan Forest Bureau in Yichun City. Ms. Liu Yanhua was sent to the Xilin District Detention Center on July 25. The police also ransacked Ms. Pan's home and took Falun Gong books and some other belongings.

3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Junmei Arrested

The police arrested Ms. Liu Junmei from Chengdongxin District, Fushun City on June 29, 2008, as she worked at a private hospital in the Beitai District of Fushun City. They sent her to the Nangou Custody Center in Fushun City and transferred her to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City to be held there for two years.

4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Zhou Yuying

Officials from the Fushun City Police Department, the Qingyuan County Police Department, and the Hongtoushan Mine Police Station together with a Street Party Committee arrested the following individuals: Ms. Zhou Yuying, Ms. Xia Shukun, Ms. Hua Yuju, Ms. Zhang Huamei, Mr. Sui Lisen, Ms. Zhang Hongtao and her mother at 11:30 p.m. on June 28, 2008. The police confiscated a 9,000 yuan bank deposit slip, two computers and some gold and silver jewelry.

The police beat and otherwise tortured several practitioners at the Qingyuan County Police Department for three days. As a result, Zhang Huamei and Sui Lisen couldn't move, Xia Shukun's entire body was severely bruised, and they were later sent to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City. Zhou Yuying, Xia Shukun and Zhang Huamei were taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on July 26, while Sui Lisen was taken to the Wujiapu Forced Labor Camp.

5. [Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Guiqin Sent to the Helong Detention Center

On the morning of July 24, the police entered the home of Ms. Zhang Guiqin, an employee of the Bajiazi Forest Bureau in Jilin Province, and ransacked it. They sent her to the Helong Detention Center in the afternoon.

The police arrested Ms. Liu Guijin on May 14, 2008, and sentenced her to two years of forced labor. They secretly sent her to Division 10 of the Tuanhe Labor Re-education Dispatch Division on July 1, to further persecute her.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Lixin Arrested

The police arrested Ms. Zhang Lixin, who is in her seventies, on July 18, 2008, from Haidian District. Her current condition and location are unknown.

10. [Beijing] Update on Arrested Practitioners

The police arrested Mr. Jiang Tao, Mr. Li Junfeng, Mr. Chen Suping, and Ms. Zang Lizhen on May 13, 2008, and held them at the Xicheng Detention Center in Qiliqu. Shortly thereafter the practitioners were sentenced to two-and-a half years of forced labor, and were transferred to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp on July 9. Two days later, Zang Lizhen was sent to a forced labor camp somewhere in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the whereabouts of Jiang Tao, Li Junfeng and Chen Suping are currently unknown.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Xing Wanshu and Mr. Li Shaohong Arrested at Home

The police arrested Ms. Xing Wanshu and Mr. Li Shaohong at their homes on July 25, 2008, and held them at the Changping Brainwashing Center.

12. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Male Practitioner Arrested at 8:00 p.m. on July 26

Officials from the Xintai City Education Bureau and Xintai City 610 Office arrested Ms. An Yan, a teacher at Xinwen Experimental School, around June 20, 2008, and ransacked her home.

An Yan's husband lived away from home after repeated harassment and persecution, and their eight-year-old child now remains at home alone.

14. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Dianjun Arrested

Eighteen officers from the 610 Office, Laizhou City Domestic Security Bureau and the Sanshandao Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Zhang Dianjun in Xujia Village, Sanshandao at 12:30 p.m. on June 29, 2008. They arrested Zhang Dianjun and his mother, Dong Yuqing, and took Falun Gong books, computer equipment, and other belongings. His mother returned home on July 16, but Zhang Dianjun is still being held at a detention center.

According to an incomplete estimate, Falun Gong practitioners persecuted in Laizhou City include Ms. Wu Xiuli from Chaipeng, Ms. Chen Shanglian from Shahe, Ms. Peng Minzhi and Ms. Peng Minhua from Jincheng, Mr. Lin Dongsheng, who is a teacher at No. 1 Laizhou Middle School and his wife.

15. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Jianhua, Ms. Ren Xiuxiang and Mr. Han Lezhong Sentenced to Forced Labor

The police arrested Mr. Sun Jianhua and Ms. Ren Xiuxiang, and sent them to a 610 Office brainwashing center. She was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor despite lack of evidence and inability to indict her. Mr. Sun Jianhua managed to escape and has returned home. The authorities sent Ren Xiuxiang and Mr. Han Lezhong to a forced labor camp in Zibo City.

16. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Shixiang and Ms. Wang Fan Arrested

The police arrested Mr. Ma Shixiang from Malou Village, Daozhuang Town, Guangrao County, Dongying City, and arrested Ms. Wang Fan, who works at Shengli Oil Field and was staying with her mother-in-law, at noon on July 20, 2008. The officers are from the Daozhuang Town Police Station and possibly another agency.

17. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Defeng and Ms. Ma Xiuwen Arrested

Jiepai Town 610 Office agents in Mengyin County broke into the homes of Ms. Ma Xiuwen in Pengjialing Village and Ms. Zhang Defeng in Hedong Village, and arrested them at 5:00 p.m. on July 16, 2008. They also ransacked their homes. The practitioners were held at the Chongshan Police Station and later transferred to Jiepai Town on July 16. It was reported that they are being tortured at the Mengyin County 610 Office. The officials beat Ma Xiuwen and inflicted serious head injuries. Zhang Defeng is in her forties and is the sister of Ms. Zhang Dezhen, a teacher at Jiuzhai Middle School in Mengyin County, who died as a result of being tortured.

The police arrested Ms. Zhang Lixiang from Dongantai Village, Huangqipu Town, Fangzi District, Weifang City and ransacked her home on July 26, 2008. They took her computer and some other belongings.

19. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Wenqiang Arrested

Officers from the Yuqiuhu Police Station arrested Mr. Wang Wenqiang from Sanshilipu Township in Gaotang County, Liaocheng City at 9:00 a.m., on July 22, 2008.

Mr. Wang's wife was carrying their one-year-old child as she tried to explain Falun Gong to the police. The police detained her and only let her go after extorting money from her. Mr. Wang is currently being held at the Gaotang County Detention Center.

25. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Guishu Lives Homeless Life to Avoid Persecution

Nine officials, including Tangzi Village Party official Bai Chengqin and police officer Wang Haiwei from Tumenzi Township, Qinglong County, Qinhuangdao City, went to Ms. Li Guishu's home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a digital receiver, DVDs, 2,600 yuan in cash, and took her husband, Feng Haiyun, to the police station, even though he doesn't practice Falun Gong. They returned to Li Guishu's home at 2:00 p.m. and arrested her son, Feng Quanqi. They released him after extorting 1,500 yuan from the family. Li Guishu has lived away from home to avoid further persecution.

26. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Many practitioners in Zhangjiakou City were arrested on July 25, 2008, as a result of orders issued to the police by the 610 Office. It is already known that ten practitioners, including Ms. Li Guiling, Ms. Zhang Fengli, and Ms. Sun Runtao from Huanggainao have been arrested. In addition, Mr. Xiao Zhanping, who works at the Traffic Bureau, and another practitioner from Sirenwa, Shandianhe were also arrested. Ms. Wang Yulian was taken to the Zhangjiakou Brainwashing Center. All practitioners were forced to submit their ID cards to the police, and if they refused, they were taken to the brainwashing center. The police forcibly confiscated the ID cards from Mr. Liang Jian and his wife, Wang Yonghua.

The police arrested Mr. Chen Jianhua from Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City on July 24th. They first took him to the Shichang Street Police Station and later sent him to the Career Development Brainwashing Center. Two days later, he was transferred to a detention center. These practitioners from Xuanhua District were also arrested: Ms. Chai Wensu, Mr. Yuan Binyan, Ms. Wang Junfeng, Ms. Zhang Yaqin, Ms. Tong Yan, Ms. Li Yuhua, Ms. Chen Cuilian, and some others.

27. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Persecution of Mr. Yang Yongquan

The police arrested Mr. Yang Yongquan from Yuzhuang Village, Nanwucun Township, Jizhou City, Hengshui in late 2005, as he was distributing Falun Gong materials on the street. They took him to the Zhanghuai Township Police Station in Jizhou City, where two officers savagely beat him. He was later locked up at the Jizhou Detention Center, where the authorities demanded to know his name and the source of the materials. During the winter, they forced him to sit on a metal chair while depriving him of sleep. They poured cold water over him, and cuffed his hands together and stomped on them, which almost tore the tendons in his wrists and caused a permanent disability They also stretched his legs out sideways to inflict pain. When Yang Yongquan did the Falun Gong exercises, the inmates beat him, and Yang went on a hunger strike to protest the abuse. The officials force-fed him with salt water and tied him to the metal chair for days while depriving him of sleep.

28. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Fenghua Sentenced to Forced Labor

A group of officers from the Qiaoxi Police Department and the Xili Police Station in Shijiazhuang City ransacked the home of Ms. Zhang Fenghua in Chengjiaozhuang, Qiaoxi District at 10:00 a.m. on June 30, 2008. Ms. Zhang is around 60 years old. The police confiscated a large number of Falun Gong materials and a copying machine. They subsequently took her to Xili Police Station and transferred her to Shijiazhuang's No. 1 Detention Center at 7:00 p.m. She has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition, and the detention center officials refused to take her for treatment. They let her go home after extorting 5,000 yuan from her family.

The police arrested Ms. Zhang again at her home on the afternoon of July 26, and took her to Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. Despite her poor health, she was sentenced to 15 months of forced labor.

Officials from the Dongli Police Station arrested Zhang Fenghua's niece Hu Yanxia, who is also a practitioner, on July 8, and ransacked her home. She is currently being held at Shijiazhuang's No. 1 Detention Center, where her family is not allowed to visit her or even bring clothes to her.

Mr. Li Ningning and three other members of his family from Xiantai Township, Mancheng Town, Baoding City all practice Falun Gong. The police have constantly harassed them prior to the Olympics and the family has now gone into hiding.

Officials at the Hancun Township Police Station in Baoding City have been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. They illegally took ID cards from Ms. Chen Xiuhua, Ms. Liu Yuzhen, Ms. Zhu Xiuzhen and Ms. Zhu Chengli at their homes around July 16, 2008.

32. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Thirteen Practitioners Arrested

Authorities of Wangdu County, Baoding City arrested 13 practitioners around July 20, 2008, including Mr. Zhao Mingqi, Ms. Pan Zhi, Ms. Zhou Yanli, Ms. Shao Cailou, Ms. Qing Er, and Ms. Shu Min. They also confiscated Falun Gong books and computers from the practitioners' homes.

33. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Qiang Arrested

Officials arrested Mr. Li Qiang, 36, who lived in the Fengyu Building, Lubei District, Tangshan City, at his workplace, the Tangshan Post Office, at noon on July 25, 2008, and they also ransacked his home and took a laptop computer and some personal belongings. They handcuffed him and took him to Zunhua City for further persecution.

The same group of officials arrested Li Qiang's 76-year-old father, Li Chunhua, on July 10, and ransacked his home. They released him when his blood pressure was found to be 240 mmHg with a rapid heartbeat.

34. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Fengyun Arrested

Officers from the Xiaobali Police Station and Fengrun District Domestic Security Bureau in Fengrun District, Tangshan City broke into Mr. Zhang Fengyun's home in Xiaobali Village on July 24, 2008. They took Falun Gong books and materials and arrested Zhang Fengyun and his wife. His wife was released on July 26, but Zhang Fengyun was held in criminal detention.

Officers from the Lutai Town Police Station in Ninghe County, Tianjin arrested Ms. Wang Xiujie, from Hangu Farm District in Tangshan City, at his rented home in Lutai Town at 9:00 p.m. on July 26, 2008. He has subsequently been transferred to Tangshan City's 610 Office.

Officers from the Jiangjiaying Police Station arrested Ms. Cao Xiaoling, Ms. Yang Yanping and Ms. Wei Yufeng when they were talking to people about Falun Gong in Hezhuangzi Village, Jiangjiaying Township on the afternoon of July 27, 2008.

37. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Additional Information Regarding Persecution Before the Olympics

Officials from the Hengshui City Party Committee, the 610 Office and the police station have been arresting and monitoring Falun Gong practitioners in the area since May, 2008.

Officers from the Heyan Town Police Station in Taocheng District arrested Ms. Chuo Huahui, a teacher at No. 7 Middle School of Hengshui City, and Ms. Zhang Fengqin from Lubei, and held them at the Hengshui City Detention Center.

The police broke into and ransacked Ms. Hong's home in Lubei on the evening of July 21, when Ms. Hong was not at home. Officers from the Xinhua Road Police Station arrested Ms. Li Shuhui on the street. She was living at the Zhonghua Street Post Office Family Dormitory. She is still being held at the Xinhua Road Police Station.

Officers ransacked the home of Ms. Zhang Qiuyun, an employee of Hongqi Market in Hengshui City, on the morning of July 26. They took one computer and some Falun Gong books.

Officers from the Hengshui City Police Department and the local police broke into Mr. Zhi's home at Hengshui City No. 3 Railway Bureau Family Dormitory at 3:00 a.m. on July 23, 2008. They took a copying machine, Falun Gong materials and books, and some other belongings, and arrested Mr. Zhi. They tortured him until he experienced convulsions, then sent him to a hospital, where two men are currently watching him.

38. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Arrested

Authorities of Shenzhou City have been monitoring Falun Gong practitioners around the clock. Some of the authorities "warned" the practitioners not to go to Beijing and coerced them into writing guarantee statements. Some confiscated the practitioners' ID cards, some ransacked their homes, arrested practitioners and sent them to detention centers.

It is known that the following practitioners have been arrested: Ms. Zhang Qunkao and Mr. Song Yingdong from Huchi Township, Ms. Ying Qiu from Xiangxin Village, Chenshi Township, Mr. Lan Duo and his wife from Tangfeng Township, Ms. Xu Yanxiang and Mr. Zhang Zhiguo from Shenzhou Town, as well as Ms. Gui Ling and her husband from Dongjingmeng Village. The last couple have been living a homeless life for several months, but were recently arrested and taken to the Shenzhou City Detention Center.

39. [Shangqiu City, Henan Province] Ms. Sun Xiuying and Mr. Ba Wei Arrested

Officials from the Suiyang District Domestic Security Division surrounded the rented home of Ms. Sun Xiuying at the Shangqiu City Power Plant Family Dormitory at 5:00 p.m. on July 21, 2008. They proceeded to pry open the door with tools and arrested Ms. Sun.

The same group of officials also arrested Mr. Ba Wei from Shangqiu City and his teenage son on July 23, 2008.

40. [Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Wang Xuanping Arrested

The police arrested Ms. Wang Xuanping, who was originally from Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province, at her home in Shanghai on July 21, 2008. She is currently being detained at an undisclosed location.

41. [Linzhou City, Henan Province] Police Harass Falun Gong Practitioners

Twenty Domestic Security agents and town police from Linzhou City ransacked seven practitioners' homes in Fentou Village, Yaocun Town on July 26, 2008, and arrested Ms. Yuan Linju, 57, and Ms. Li Aiping, 46.

42. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Persecution in Cailing Town

Officers from the Zhouxi Police Station in Duchang County tried to ransack Mr. Wang Huosun's home on July 16, but Wang stopped them with righteous condemnation.

The police broke into Mr. Wang Shenglong's home on July 21, and ransacked it. They took Falun Gong books and materials and then took his wife to the County Detention Center, where she is to be held for 21 days.

Five agents from the Duchang County Domestic Security Bureau arrested Ms. Cao Jinzhen on the morning of July 22, and ransacked her home. They took a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, and took Cao to the police department, where the police interrogated her for more than an hour. She later managed to escape using righteous thoughts.

43. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Xing Zhiyi, His Wife Ms. Sheng Guoping, and Mr. Li Shouhe Arrested and Detained

44. [Chongqing City] Ms. Zhao Xiaoqun Arrested

Ms. Zhao Xiaoqun, 65, lived at Xiejiawan, Jiulongpo District, in Chongqing City. Five officers from Section 1 of the Jiulongpo District Police Department in Chongqing City, arrested her at her home, sometime between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and noon on July 24, 2008. They also ransacked her home.

45. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Sufang and Mr. Du Ziping Arrested

Someone reported Ms. Yang Sufang, Mr. Du Ziping, and several other practitioners from Kai Conty, Chongqing City to the authorities when they were explaining Falun Gong to people in Zhuxi Town, on July 25, 2008. The police came and took Yang Su Fang and Du Ziping to the Linjiang Police Station in Kai County. One practitioner escaped safely, but broke a leg.

46. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Xingning City 610 Office Agents and officers from the Yetang Police Station in Xingning City, Meizhou arrested these four practitioners at 8:00 p.m. on July 22, 2008. Those arrested included Mr. Liu Huichen, Mr. Zhang Feirong, Ms. Qiu Yuanxiang, and Ms. Qiu Renying. They confiscated one laptop computer, one all-in-one printer, and 200 Falun Gong pamphlets from Ms. Qiu Yuanxiang's home. Two practitioners are currently being held in Xingning, and Ms. Qiu is being held in Wuhua County, Meizhou City.

47. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Zhendi and Others Arrested

The police arrested Ms. Li Zhendi, who is from Zhanjiang City on July 25, and took computers and printers from her home. They also arrested Mr. Chen Shaoqing and some other practitioners.

48. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chu Lanying Arrested

Officers from the Jiyuqiao Police Station arrested Ms. Chu Lanying, who is in her seventies, on July 24, when she was exposing the Party's lies regarding Falun Gong. Her whereabouts is currently unknown.

49. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioners Arrested

The police arrested Mr. Jin Heping, Ms. Chen Min, and Ms. Li Junxia from Wuchang District, Wuhan City. Five days ago, they sent these practitioners to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang District.

50. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Ren Liyun Arrested

Ms. Ren Liyun, 50, is an employee of the Shuguang Electronics Corporation in Changsha City. She was being held at the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, and was subsequently sent to Furong District's 610 Office Brainwashing Center and the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City.

Officers from the Dongtundu Police Station in Changsha City arrested Ren Liyun on July 24, 2008, and she is currently being held at the Changsha City Custody Center.
