(Clearwisdom.net) In May 2008, police arrested, interrogated, and tortured Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Liu Huijie and Ms. Zheng Qingzhi in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province.
At around 8:00 p.m. on May 16, a dozen officers from the Wenhua Street and Yanjiang Police Stations took positions outside Ms. Liu's apartment building. As soon as her son left for work, the officers surrounded him and seized his key. They then rushed to the sixth floor and burst into the apartment. The police officers handcuffed Ms. Liu's son and kept him in the kitchen. Meanwhile, they frantically searched the apartment and seized a printer and two digital media players. Ms. Liu asked the officers whether they had a warrant, but one of them replied that no warrant was necessary in cases that involved Falun Dafa practitioners.
The officers then took Ms. Liu to the Wenhua Street Police Station, where they handcuffed her to a metal chair and deprived her of sleep for two days. They also covered her head with a plastic bag and put lit cigarettes into her nose, which made her dizzy and unable to breathe. They also claimed that they would force-feed her with mustard oil and torture her using a method called "five horses splitting a body." (1) But no matter how much the officers persecuted her, Ms. Liu persisted in encouraging them to do good deeds instead of evil. The officers then tried to deceive Ms. Liu and her son. They told her son that they had searched Ms. Liu and found paper currency containing truth clarification messages, and they told Ms. Liu that they had arrested her son for visiting banned websites. However, they failed in their deception.
The following afternoon, the police officers took Ms. Liu to the Qiqihar First Detention Center. She was extremely weak, dizzy, and nauseous from the brutal torture they had inflicted on her. But despite her condition, the police sentenced her to two years of forced labor.
Several days earlier, on May 14, officers from the Wenhua Street Police Station arrested Ms. Zheng Qingzhi. They used the "five horses splitting a body" torture method as they interrogated her. They also arrested her husband and son the following day. The police confiscated the son's newly-acquired wages, extorted 3,000 yuan from them, and seized their personal property, including a computer, a printer, and digital media players.
On June 11, Zhang Shoulun, chief of the Wenhua Street Police Station, Officer Wang Hongjun, and several other officers transferred Ms. Liu and Ms. Zheng to the Harbin City Drug Rehabilitation Center. The center refused to admit Ms. Liu because she was unconscious and barely alive. She returned home the following day.
Five Falun Dafa practitioners remain in custody at the Qiqihar First Detention Center, including Ms Wang Xuqiu, Ms. Wang Yuxian, Ms. Su Yuxiu, Ms. Wang Guirong (who worked at an automobile factory), and a practitioner whose identity is unknown. There are reports that the Communist regime's judicial system plans to give Ms. Wang Xuqiu and Ms. Wang Yuxian harsh prison terms.
