(Clearwisdom.net) On January 26, 2006, the first day of the Chinese New Year, the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Touring Company held a evening show at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The artists' exquisite performance brought people from all walks of life a meaningful Chinese New Year.
Jaremko, a professional dancer, was impressed by the performance and thought everything was very well presented. She mentioned that Chinese classical dance is rich with different layers and meanings, and that she had not realized before the show that Chinese dance could have brought so many thoughts, emotions, and stories to life. She particularly liked dances with distinctive ethnic characteristics such as "Dance of the Yi," which evoked joy and a cheerful spirit. She also enjoyed the dance in "Monk Ji Gong Abducts the Bride," which was philosophical, inspirational and made people think.

The dance drama "Monk Ji Gong Abducts the Bride" depicts Ji Gong telling fellow villagers to move away before a flood came. He was treated as crazy and laughed at. Ji Gong, with his compassion and wisdom, abducted the bride and made the villagers chase him. In the end, he saved all the villagers.
Jaremko believed the uniqueness of the dance was that it told a story, and the meaning behind it. The story is a warning for people. She believes that such catastrophe might come in the real world and people need to be prepared and open their minds to kind-hearted warnings from sages and prophets.
Jaremko mentioned how Chinese dance is very different from ballet. It is softer and more capable of telling rich stories. She expressed her willingness to learn Chinese dance.
She envies the artists she saw performing in the show because they get to have an outstanding and warm home such as Divine Performing Arts, and they get to travel around and perform their best in prestigious world-class theaters.
