(Clearwisdom.net) (Correspondent from China) On October 8, 2009, Ms. Yang Xiaojing's elderly parents drove several hours again to Gansu Province Prison in Tianshui City to once again beg for Mr. Cao Dong to be allowed to bid farewell to his wife. There were many plain-clothes police waiting outside the prison, and a large number of guards were arranged inside the prison. Dong Shoutang, the Prison Education Office Chair and Warden Liu Jiangtao refused the old couple's reasonable request, saying such a thing had never been done before.
The old couple requested to meet with Mr. Cao Dong to discuss Ms. Yang Xiaojing's funeral. The Prison Administration only allowed the elderly couple speak with Mr. Cao Dong using a phone and separated them with a window. Mr. Cao Dong was surrounded by more than a dozen guards. The old couple had to go back Lanzhou City in their grief.
At 1 p.m. on October 10, 2009, Ms. Yang's family held a very simple farewell ceremony. Ms. Yang's body lay among yellow mums while being viewed by her loved ones. Her body was taken to the Hualinshan Crematory. Her mother could not bear to be at the cremation and had to leave early. Her father and uncle had to finish the process.
