(Clearwisdom.net) As Shen Yun Performing Arts continues to dazzle audiences at Geneva's Théâtre du Léman, theatre goers from all backgrounds have expressed their appreciation for the New York-based show.
Curtain call at Tuesday evening's performance.
Ms. Blanc said, "I work for a magazine that serves as a bridge between two different cultures," and she therefore was touched by the richness and diversity of China's ancient traditions presented through Shen Yun's performances.
Ms. Blanc shared that seeing Shen Yun for the first time had profoundly touched her and caused her to think. "Above all it [Shen Yun] embodies tenderness and softness, which is something that's seldom seen in the world we live in where there's a tendency to pay less and less importance to culture and I believe that the magic that's emanated from the show just makes us want to go back to real values, traditional values that only a different culture can make us really appreciate," she said.
"I really enjoyed one act, but at the same time it left me speechless. It was the penultimate act--the one about a family that's torn apart by the issues that are happening in China [Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution].
"Family values are something that's extremely important and I think it's hard enough as is in some cases, without having to bear the scourge of an entire country and it's government which is extremely hard, inquisitive and I would say intrudes into the privacy of that couple."
In conclusion Ms. Blanc said, "What I especially liked in this show is it's color, it's harmony, it's softness, it's grace and it's scenery that reminds us of China's history. Which is a history that's hundreds of years old, extremely rich and diversified. Watching it I felt happiness and tenderness. I think that's what impressed me most."
'Wonderful, Beautiful Show!'
The owner and manager of a wellness health clinic, Mr. Recordon, had come with a party of eight to see the world-renowned Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Théâtre du Léman. "What I want to say, the performing is 'supple', how do you say?"
"Yes, the dancers are so supple," agreed Ms. Collins, who works in the wellness clinic.
"Another thing that we found beautiful was the culture," she said enthusiastically, "and the respect and the costumes and the philosophy was magnificent really."
Ms. Collins was visibly touched by the show and said, "The show was very, very beautiful and spectacular. The quality of the dancing and technical side was absolutely magnificent. I'm very impressed with the whole show and all of the group I'm with [friends] they are also very impressed."
She paused, seaching for words, "We don't know how to express ... that we felt it was very beautiful. The quality of the opera singers--wonderful! A beautiful show!"
Mr. Recordon commented on the distinctiveness of the music. "Beautiful music," agreed Ms. Collins. "Very calming." She felt a link with the past of China. "It is very exhilarating. Because modern China is not so much this. It is good to keep the customs and culture going."
