In today's China, because of the indoctrination of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), people have a notion that those who believe in God or Buddha are ignorant and uneducated. Whenever they hear about belief in gods or Buddhas, they say those people are trying to entrust their lives to something intangible and are, therefore, not being realistic.
Then, to what are we entrusting our lives? To entrust is to put one's goals and hopes into someone or something that one hopes will fulfill them. Different people have different goals and hopes; therefore, they'll have different notions of to what or whom they should entrust these things.
Those who want to be rich may entrust their lives to someone or something with the hope of receiving money and wealth. They are bound to get happy or worried over tiny material interests.
Those who do not want to live just to make a living might pursue freedom. They'd entrust their lives to someone or something with hopes of gaining independence. Therefore, they enjoy the times when they can be free, without having to follow all kinds of rules. Even though other people might say they are trying to avoid reality, they are still trying very hard to go after what they want. From that perspective, don't they have a positive attitude towards life? When they wander in the mountains, they are happy that they are able to embrace mother nature and the possibility that they may become enlightened to the meaning of life.
Some people believe that good will be rewarded and that bad will be punished. They believe gods and spirits are watching them. Therefore, with respect towards gods and Buddhas, they do good deeds and hope for protection from the gods and Buddhas. They may try to be a good person without worrying too much about what they can get in return. When doing this, they are able to maintain a calm mind and heart and eventually they can see through their life to see the greater meaning behind it.
Everyone is looking for someone or something to which they can entrust their life. When they are satisfied with the things they've received, they may realize that they are still poor in the spiritual world. Therefore, they may search for comfort for their mind and heart by either touring the mountains and rivers or finding a soul mate to whom they can freely talk. They may be satisfied for a while. However, in the end, they may come back to this world and everything will become history. They may then get frustrated and ask, "What's the purpose of life? What is our ultimate goal?"
In fact, the meaning of life is something that everybody wishes to know. We all want to find out why we were born into this firmament. After reading Zhuan Falun, I came to realize that this book contains such compassionate offerings that human beings can never pay back. The book of Zhuan Falun is the ultimate thing to which someone can entrust their life.
Then we'd know why Falun Dafa has spread to over one hundred and fourteen countries and regions during the ten years of the CCP's brutal persecution. We'd understand why Falun Dafa practitioners are still able to solidly walk down the cultivation path when they are faced with the situation where they could lose everything, including their life. We'd admire that they have been rationally and peacefully clarifying the truth to people and reaching out to the lives that have been deceived by the CCP when they themselves are bearing such huge hardships. Immense compassion and forbearance comes from their minds and hearts after they have entrusted their lives with the truth of the cosmos. Only those who embrace the power of Truth, Compassion, Forbearance are not afraid of evil.
Everyone, please remember, "Wonderful Falun Dafa!" Have you heard of it? It is an opportunity that only comes once in thousands of years. Do you cherish it?
