(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Lin Guizhi from Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province has been detained and persecuted at the Shenyang Women's Prison for over 5 years. Her family members went to see her in the prison recently and found that she was very weak. She fainted right in front of them. She suffered from a blood clot in her brain and lost consciousness 6 or 7 times a day. In November 2008, prison officials notified her family that Ms. Lin was in serious condition yet they still refused to release her. Team leader Zhang Lei said, "If she doesn't give up her belief in Falun Dafa or write a guarantee statement to give it up, she will not be released on bail for medical treatment even if she dies in prison." Currently the prison is trying to "transform" Ms. Lin with coercion and are refusing to release her.

Lin Guizhi Was Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison and Her Illnesses Relapsed
On February 22, 2002, because she practiced Falun Gong, Ms. Lin was detained for one month and fined 500 yuan. On May 13, 2002 she was detained again for practicing Falun Gong and was held for nearly another month. After she was released the second time, officials from the police station and the residential committee came to harass her on politically sensitive days and tried to pressure her to write guarantee statements to give up her belief. They threatened her that if she didn't write them, she would be detained. Ms. Lin had benefited physically and mentally from practicing Falun Gong. Giving up practicing would mean going back to her previously sick condition. She refused to slander Dafa, which had saved her life. She had no other choice but to leave her family and home, and move from place to place to avoid persecution.
On November 18, 2003, police from the Zhannan Police Station in Chaoyang City arrested Lin Guizhi on her way to work and took her to the First Detention Center in Wujiawa. She was not able to practice the exercises there and had a heart attack. She fell unconscious twice, but the detention center denied her medical treatment. In January 2004, the Shuanta District Procuratorate and Court sentenced the seriously ill Ms. Lin to seven years in prison.
On March 5, 2004, Ms. Lin was sent to Dabei Prison. She was very weak with serious illness and had difficulty walking. She started suffering from heart disease during her detention at the police station. When the Dabei Prison refused to take her, people from the Shuangta Police Station dragged her to the car and severely beat her in public. They brought her back but didn't release her or give her any treatment.
In March, police took Ms. Lin to the Balibao Central Hospital in Chaoyang for a medical examination. She asked policeman Cao Binglin for the cardiogram. He didn't give it to her, and instead beat her.
Right before May 1, the district hospital presented Ms. Lin's medical records to the Shuangta District Court but didn't get any reply from the court. She was then sent to the Shenyang Prison.
Persecuted for Five Years and Falling into Unconsciousness Several Times a Day, But Still Not Allowed Medical Bail
In November 2008, Ms. Lin was seriously ill. Several times a day she fell unconscious and went into convulsions. Prison officials took her to the affiliated hospital of Shenyang Medical University for an examination. Due to her serious health problems, two prison guards went to the Chaoyang District to submit an application for bail for medical treatment on her behalf on November 19, 2008.
Li Guangwen, the group leader of the Community Police Affairs Brigade of the Guangming Police Station under Chaoyang City Public Security Bureau, claimed that the prison doctor said that Lin Guizhi hadn't satisfied certain conditions for bail on medical grounds. He thus rejected the application. Later on her family members went to the prison doctor and asked him in person. The prison doctor said that he hadn't recommended a rejection for bail on medical grounds.
Her family members went to see Li Guangwen several times and questioned him about why he rejected the application. He evaded the question several times, and eventually he said that if the prison presented the case again and stated that her health had worsened, he would reconsider the medical bail. However, officials from the prison refused to go to Chaoyang District to make another application. Thus the prison and the Chaoyang Public Security Bureau shifted responsibility to each other while Ms. Lin suffered. After her anxious family members looked for help from various organizations, both parties agreed to release her. On January 14, 2009 when her family members went to see her, prison guards tried to force Ms. Lin again to write the guarantee statement.
Recent Situation of Lin Guizhi
On September 9, 2009, Ms. Lin's husband went to the Shenyang Women's Prison to see her. She was so weak that she fainted and fell to the ground. She remained unconscious for five to six minutes. The prison guard said that this time she came to her senses quickly and that sometimes she remained unconscious for half an hour, and that this happened several times a day.
Ms. Lin is being detained at the Sixth Team of the Second Brigade in the Women's Prison of the Shenyang City Prison. The team leader is prison guard Zhang Lei. Zhang Lei said, "Lin Guizhi can apply for bail for medical treatment. But if she is not prepared to admit that she has committed crimes or she doesn't give up her belief or write a guarantee statement, she cannot get bail even if she dies in prison."
