(Clearwisdom.net) On February 6, 2009, Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company and The Divine Performing Arts Orchestra staged its first of five shows at the Touhill Performing Arts Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the show, calling it "Simply awesome!"
"I Love it! I Love it! I Think the Whole Show Is Just Fabulous!
John Thomas, a Boeing senior engineer, attended the show with his daughter, Jenna, who is both a singer and a performing arts student at Webster University. She is majoring in music and voice performance.
"I love it! I love it!" exclaimed said Mr. Thomas. "I think the whole show is just fabulous! It's enjoyable, it's energetic and I love the smoothness of the performances. And it makes me relax."
When he was asked which performance he liked best, he said, "Oh ... that's tough." Turning to his daughter he asked, "What do you think?"
She said, "Oh, wow! I love the singing and I really enjoyed the 'Persecuted on a Sacred Path' piece of a man being persecuted for his beliefs and going to Heaven. It was a wonderful story and I loved the colors. It brought in themes of family, dance, loss, love, Heaven, and faith. I really enjoyed that."
Regarding the persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Thomas said that this was the "first time I had heard of it."
He enjoyed "The Udumbara's Bloom" very much, saying, "I enjoyed that. That was very beautiful."
He told the reporter that he heard about the show while shopping at Costco. "I saw the video about the Radio City Music Hall performance in New York and that every show was sold out. I saw some of the advertising and was persuaded by the convincing salesmanship of the people at Costco.
"This is something I really knew nothing about. And it was something I took a chance on. And I got the best seats I could. I decided to take my daughter because she's in theatre and she enjoys this a lot so I thought this would be a great father-daughter thing."
When Jenna was asked to comment on the show from the vantage point of being a singer and a performing arts student, she replied, "The singers were wonderful, absolutely wonderful! I aspire to be able to have those vocal abilities in the future, through my training. I take some opera classes and I am studying in classical voice. It was so wonderful to hear a professional sing!"
