(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Lai Zuo-ming, a famous Taiwanese lacquer artist and president of Lai Gao-Shan Art Museum, is the son of renowned Taiwanese lacquer artist Mr. Lai Gao-shan. Mr. Lai Zuo-ming watched the Shen Yun performance last year; however, this year he was traveling abroad and missed the Shen Yun show in Taichung. When the performance company added two shows in Changhua, he and his wife were happy to catch it on the evening of March 24 2009.

Mr. Lai promoted the art of musical instruments four years ago, so he has a special interest in dance and music. He said the Shen Yun show inspired him and impacted his life.
Mr. Lai was deeply touched during the first half of the show. "Shen Yun Performing Arts found many beautiful performers, such beautiful dancing. This beauty is of the essence of heaven and earth," he said.
Mr. Lai said both male and female dancers must have come through very difficult training to be able to represent both heavenly and human realms. Mr. Lai used to say that beauty is inside the spirit and beauty is inside nature. After watching Shen Yun, he said he suddenly realized the spirit displayed in Shen Yun is the common goal of mankind.
As for the singers, Mr. Lai Zuo-ming said "They belong to heaven." His wife was very touched by a line in one song, "Do not worry about the illusions." "The song had a profound meaning,"she said.
Mr. Lai seemed to have a special relationship with Falun Gong. "I understood the meaning of life and reincarnation in the show," he said. Before, he knew Falun Gong is based on Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, but hese three principles don't mention "Beauty." Today, he realized that beauty is within Shen Yun Performing Arts. He was very excited and exclaimed, "It's worth much more than the ticket price!"
Mr. Lai said watching the show gave him inspiration, renewed energy and new experiences. He will definitely watch Shen Yun again.
Lai Zuo-ming was the first person in Taiwan to work on lacquer pottery art. Applying many new techniques to lacquer pottery art, he created a new era of a unique Taiwanese art form. In the year 2000, a privately-funded museum was established by Lai Zuo-ming and his father and opened to the public for free. In 2001, the father and son received a special award from the Taiwan Art and Culture Committee.
