(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour captivated audiences from all cultural backgrounds as it debuted to the capital city of Queensland, Brisbane. Ms. Pae, the president of the Australian Burmese Association was among the VIP guests who attended Thursday's evening performance at the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre
This was the first time Ms. Pae had seen Shen Yun, and she marveled at its beauty that she said would stay with her."You can always remember beautiful things," she said.
She particularly noted the demeanor of the dancers, "They [the dancers] look like they're all smiling. ... It was so amazing, I love it."
Ms. Pae said Shen Yun was quite different from anything she had seen before. She said, "The message--I can tell it is Chinese culture. I have to tell some people to come next time. ... I don't know how to say, but it's a really, really amazing show. I love it."
Brisbane dance school teacher, Ms. Ellis, also attended the show and brought some of her young students with her. Ms. Ellis has been teaching dance for over 25 years and she was most favorably impressed by the dancers. "They are just so graceful. The costumes are amazing, and the way it is put together."
Her student, twelve-year-old Sarah, who has been dancing for a couple of years, was an elite gymnast before she took up dancing. She felt that the show would give her something to aspire to. "It will give me something to think of going towards," she said.
Company Owner Moved To Tears
Business owners Mr. and Mrs. Sanderson also attended the Shen Yun opening performance at the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre in Brisbane on Thursday.

Mr. Sanderson said he was most deeply affected by the performance, "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution." "I was moved to tears by the performance of the Falun Dafa people. I think it's a pity that a land with so much culture and so much colour and so much love is dominated by so few with bad intentions." This dance depicts the harsh reality of persecution that exists for millions of practitioners of Falun Dafa in China today.
Mrs. Sanderson said, "I loved the show! I thought it was very, very beautiful ... beautiful costumes, colourful, beautiful dancing, very precise. It gave me a better understanding of Chinese cultural history. It was interesting, very uplifting and made me feel very good inside," said Mrs. Sanderson.
"There was a lovely purity about it. A very happy, happy show," she added.
Inspired To Look Into Classical Chinese Culture
Two management consultants, Ms. Shorrocks and Ms. Tunny, were also impressed with Shen Yun. "Spectacular! It's beautiful," said Ms. Shorrocks. "Costumes are gorgeous, dancing is fabulous. It's a lot more than we were expecting. A lot more. It's incredibly vibrant, really alive. It's culturally educational as well."
Ms. Tunny was pleasantly surprised by the vocalists. "It's just amazing. The singers are so powerful and the music, just beautiful. They are definitely bringing across the emotional side, it's just fantastic."
Ms. Shorrocks said, "I think it's very educational, art-wise certainly and spiritually too, because there's an awful lot of spiritual content here. It's certainly quite enlightening for us culturally."
She was also interested in the contemporary scene "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution," which depicts the story of a daughter whose father is persecuted to death for practicing Falun Gong.
"I was interested in the Falun Gong part of it, I had no idea. I think the fact that they are being persecuted, and yet the spiritual nature of it, I think was very interesting. The fact that there is hope, I like that."
Community Leader: "Wonderful, Wonderful!"
After seeing Shen Yun for the first time, Mr. Chomyn, the President of the Ukrainian Community of Queensland, was truly impressed. "Wonderful! Wonderful! Absolutely really good!" he exclaimed.
Mr. Chomyn elaborated, "I loved the costumes and I loved the attention to detail, it's really wonderful. It's very ... ordered, and very respectful. I think that's what's really important. It gives you a sense of ... seeing such beautiful things so beautifully presented in such a respectful way, it makes you feel ..." Mr. Chomyn was searching for words. "Honoured," he said with a relaxed and happy laugh. "I'm just grateful that I came."
"Wonderful! Yes, Shen Yun Performing Arts are certainly that and so much more!" Mr. Chomyn concluded.

Ms. Stone, a consultant in her own financial company, said she would tell her friends the show was "An excellent performance, well presented. The artists are obviously extremely skilled. I just enjoyed the afternoon...the colour, the grace, the beauty, and also certainly, it was an education--to understand a different culture that I'm not familiar with."
Upon reflection she said that she felt, "Very much a serenity and an understanding--appreciation--of another culture."
Ms. Polglaze, an administrator for her family's construction company, said she embraced "a feeling of the Chinese culture; and a better understanding" of China's true culture. Ms. Polglzae found this introduction to Chinese culture to be very profound.
She felt that the unique elements that made the show special came through the performances concerning Falun Gong, and "the gentleness of it." [referring "Dignity and Compassion"]
She concluded, "I'd encourage them [my friends] to come for the sheer beauty of the show. It's just magnificent!"
