(Clearwisdom.net) As part of a family tradition to see a show every year, Mrs. C. Fisher, an educator within a school district, and five family members attended Shen Yun Performing Arts at Queen Elizabeth Theater on Tuesday.

"I give my parents and my husband's parents a Christmas gift every year of a memory--a memory of all of us going to a show. And when I was searching for a show this year, I came across your website, and through the trailers and the pictures, I thought that this would be a fabulous memory. Our family is very strong in dance, so coming to see traditional Chinese dance has been quite a treat," remarked Mrs. Fisher.
Ms. Bruns, Mrs. Fisher's mother, is also an educator. She found it worthwhile to come all the way from Washington State to get together with the family and see the show. "That's absolutely the most beautiful show I've seen so far this year. It's gorgeous. It was absolutely wonderful. I am so thankful that she brought us here. And I loved the graphics, where they come down from the mountain and people stand up--oh, it's so amazing--that is very wonderful," she said.
Her mother-in-law, Mrs. D. Fisher, said, "The dance was so delicate. The women were so feminine. All the movements of their hands and feet are so well placed and controlled. They've worked very hard and they are all precise. They are like flowers"
Mr. Fisher, a painter, said, "We do this every year. It's really a lot of fun. [The show is] good. The last piece with the drums was exceptional. I am an artist, so I like color and I like motion. It's a really nice production."
Mrs. Medina, who attended Shen Yun with her husband, drove from Washington State to see the show to celebrate their anniversary. She said, "I thought it was beautiful. We liked the history. We loved the color, and the dancing was absolutely beautiful."

"I agree," said Mr. Medina, a pilot. "The costumes were very nice, the dancing was very nice, and it was very insightful into Chinese history. The music, too, was very nice."
Mrs. Medina was delighted with the live orchestra and the erhu, a two-stringed Chinese instrument known for its mournful, mellow sound and wide range of notes. "It was nice to have the live music, and the traditional instrument was really amazing. I thought it was true to [Chinese] culture and it was really nice to see the actual instrument from China. I have never had an opportunity to see or hear them play before, so that was fabulous for me. It's actually something I've always wanted to see."
The couple especially enjoyed "Welcoming Spring." "I just loved how they used the fans and the hand movements, the arms, everything. I loved it, I really did," said Mrs. Medina.
Ms. Scobie, a visual artist, was full of praise for Shen Yun. She said, "I am very impressed by the artistry and level of technique that all the artists displayed. I think it is a wonderful opportunity for us to see classical Chinese culture that normally I'm not exposed to. I think there was beautiful feeling with all the pieces, and the costumes were gorgeous."

Ms. Scobie's training in lithography introduced her to the process of fine art printmaking. She said that, as an artist, she is "very aware of the sensitivities of nature and color and music. I feel that [the show] all comes together in a very sensitive way, a sensitive way with deep feeling and skill combined--technical ability and great feeling together."
But what made the greatest impression on Ms. Scobie were the "tasteful" costumes and their "vibrant colors of nature," she said. "It was a wonderful combination of artistry, music, the color, the light. The stories were very well done. I'm enjoying it very much."
