(Clearwisdom.net) I learned about the morning exercises beginning at 3:50 a.m. each morning from the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom). I initially wanted to join but I was afraid that I would not rest well and it would affect my job, so I never carried out my plan. It was strange: the more I worried about not resting well, the worse I slept. I woke up every day around 4 a.m. and could not go back to sleep. I did not know the reason until one day Master enlightened me through my uncle.
I went to visit my uncle around New Year's and clarified the truth to him. He suddenly asked me, "Do you only sleep three to four hours a night?" I was ashamed to admit that I slept seven to eight hours a night and still did not feel rested.
Master stated in one of his lectures: "Some people have insomnia. But if you can't fall asleep, isn't that an opportune moment to do the exercises?" ("Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Houston") Why did I always wake around 4:00 a.m.? Did Master want me to exercise? From that point on, I began exercising in the morning, and was not disturbed while exercising at night. I am able to do the sitting meditation for one hour.
Since the beginning of morning exercises, I have become more energetic, I sleep less, and I have more time to do the three things. Also, the enthusiasm which diminished after I was released from prison has returned.
Since starting the morning exercises, I no longer have insomnia. Sometimes when my alarm clock wakes me up, I still want to sleep, but when I sit up and double-cross my legs, I become wide awake.
When karma and other substances try to stop me, I overcome and eliminate them. When I sometimes sleep through the alarm, I wake up upset. I then ask Master to wake me up the next day, and Master does!
Master once said it is very important for a cultivator to study the Fa and do the exercises well. I wrote this article to share with and encourage fellow practitioners.
