(Clearwisdom.net) On April 13, 2009, Shen Yun Performing Arts gave a remarkable performance at the Empire Theater in Toowoomba, Australia. The Chinese New Year Spectacular won warm applause from the audience, as well as an invitation from the city to come back and perform again next year.
Chinese from Inner Mongolia: It's Unparalleled
A Chinese engineer who came from Inner Mongolia 19 months ago said that the performance was terrific. He said that it was very hard to see and hear this kind of classical Chinese dance and music, and that he felt very proud of being Chinese after seeing the performance.
The Chinese engineer said that though the artists in Shen Yun grew up overseas, the quality of their performance to represent Chinese culture has never been achieved in China. He found every part of the program to be excellent.
Shen Yun Brings Out Five Thousand Years of History
Pan Zhonghao and Zhang Qiongxia had brought their children to watch the Chinese New Year Spectacular last year
Pan Zhonghao and Zhang Qiongxia immigrated from Hong Kong to Australia several years ago. The couple were interior designers when they were in Hong Kong, and now they own a Chinese restaurant in Toowoomba. After seeing the Spectacular, they thought the show was well choreographed and the costumes and colors were carefully designed and matched.
Ms. Zhang said that the programs were very educational and easy to comprehend. She especially loved the costumes and colors. She pointed out that the overall arrangement of the program kept the audience's attention and interest throughout the program.
Mr. Pan especially enjoyed the stage design with the brilliant colors and the dancers.
Ms. Zhang said, "Shen Yun brought out the five thousand years of Chinese history in a subtle, yet impressive way. Well done!"
Mr. Pan believed that Shen Yun helps his children understand Chinese culture. He said that his children did not know what the Great Wall was for and discovered that the towers were used for lighting signal fires during battle. The dance "Mulan Joins the Battle", for example, helped the children understand Chinese culture in a more concrete way.
