(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 11 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Chongqing City] Mr. Gu Shengxue Persecuted in Xishanping Forced Labor Camp
In August 2008, police arrested Chongqing practitioner Mr. Gu Shengxue because he lacked identification when taking a taxi. Mr. Gu was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He is imprisoned in the Second Squadron, Seventh Brigade of Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City. He is strictly monitored.

2. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Tao Tianzhen and Ms. Zou Guofang Arrested
On April 5, 2009, practitioners Ms. Tao Tianzhen and Ms. Zou Guofang, both from Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, were arrested when distributing information about the persecution and practice of Falun Gong in Mengguan Township. Their whereabouts are unknown. The neighborhood committee ransacked their home and confiscated their property.
3. [Tianjin City] Practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaoyun Arrested
On March 23, 2009, police from Gangdong Police Station in Dagang arrested practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaoyun, an employee of the Dagang Oil Field in Tianjin City. Police ransacked her home and confiscated property. She is detained at the Dagang Detention Center.
4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Lijie and Ms. Miao Peihua Persecuted at Jiangshuiquan Women's Forced Labor Camp
On April 15, 2009, Yuhanlu Police Station, Jinan City, arrested Ms. Liu Lijie and Ms. Miao Peihua and took them to the Shandong First Women's Forced Labor Camp.
On March 31, Ms. Liu Lijie went to listen to court proceedings concerning Professor Zhang Xingwu. Ms. Liu Lijie is a relative of Professor Zhang's. Police from the Yuhanlu Police Station arrested her outside the courthouse.
5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Arrested
On March 31, 2009, police from the Zhengyanglu Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuzhen from Chengyang Street, Dazhou Village and ransacked her home.
6. [Bangbu, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Jinling and Ms. Zhu Qi Arrested
Police from the Yingshang Village National Security Division and the Chengyuandong Police Station arrested Ms. Du Jinling and Ms. Zhu Qi, both in their sixties. On January 29, the 610 Office in Yingshang County sentenced Ms. Du Jinling and Ms. Zhu Qi to a three-year prison term to be served at the Third Prison in Su County.
7. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kang Lanying Arrested
At about 7 a.m. on April 15, 2009, police from the Xinhua Police Station, Cangzhou City, broke into practitioner Ms. Kang Lanying's home and confiscated a computer, two cell phones, CDs, and truth-clarifying material. They arrested Ms. Kang and detained her in the police station.

8. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Qizhen and Other Practitioners Arrested
On the morning of April 13, 2009, Ms Wang Qizhen, Mr. Zhang Guorong, and Ms. Luo Shixiu were arrested. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Luo were detained at the Guangan City Detention Center.
9. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Longying and Other Practitioners Arrested
On April 14, 2009, four practitioners (Ms. Gao Longying, Ms. Luo Shimei, Mr. Zhang Zhenghuan, and Ms. Zhou, a teacher, all from Miyi County) went to Malong to tell people about Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution. Police arrested and detained them in the Miyi Detention Center. That evening between 9 and 11 p.m., police from the Binggu Police Station ransacked Mr. Zhang and Ms. Luo's homes.
10. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Qin Xinchang and Ping Huiling Arrested
On April 15, 2009, Qingyang City practitioners Qin Xinchang and Ping Huiling, husband and wife in their sixties, were arrested by local police when they were working in their orchard in Qingyang.
11. [Shaowu City, Fujian Province] Practitioner Ms. Wu Qinhua Being Persecuted
Shaowu City practitioner Ms. Wu Qinhua, in her sixties, was sentenced to a three-year prison term in November 2008 to be served at the Hujian Women's Prison. Her whereabouts are unknown.
12. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Chang Chunying Arrested
On the evening of April 2, 2009, police from the local National SecurityDivision and police bureau arrested Chifeng practitioner Ms. Chang Chunying.
13. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Fang Tianming and Other Practitioners Persecuted
Since the 2008 Olympics, police from the Wuxue 610 Office and the National Security Bureau have arrested practitioner Mr. Fang Tianming and several other practitioners from Wuxue City. Their detention exceeded the legal detention duration. Then, Mr. Fang was taken to a brainwashing session and detained in the Wuxue City First Detention Center.
14. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xiong Fangming and Ms. Lei Luomei Arrested
On April 7, 2009, police arrested practitioners Mr. Xiong Fangming and Ms. Lei Luomei from Chongning County, Xianning City. Police denied family visitation.
15. [Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gu Zhengfang and Other Practitioners Arrested
On March 17, 2009, practitioner Ms. Gu Zhengfang from Nanjiang County, who is in his forties, was arrested and detained in the Ziyang City Detention Center. On the same day, more than forty practitioners' homes were ransacked and property confiscated. Six practitioners including Ms. Lei Jinxiang and Ms. Liu Dehui were taken to the Ziyang Erehu Brainwashing Center.
16. [Baise City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Wang Zhen Arrested
On April 10, 2009, Ms. Wang Zhen, an employee at the Youjiang Medical School, was arrested on her way to the school. Her whereabouts are unknown.
17. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wei Chunping Arrested
On March 6, 2009, public security personnel from the Fuzhou City Railway arrested practitioner Ms. Wei Chunping, when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution to people at the Fuzhou train station. Her whereabouts are unknown.
18. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Song Chang Sentenced to a Three-Year Term
In July 2008, police from the Shunde City Public Security Division used the excuse of examining temporary residence permits issued for out-of-towners to arrest practitioner Ms. Song Chang. Two weeks later, police from the Public Security Bureau in Shashi area, Jingzhou City, took her to the Shashi First Detention Center. The court in Shashi sentenced her to a three-year prison term without due process.
19. [Urumqi, Xinjiang Province] Persecution of Practitioner Ms. Chen Yujiang
Ms. Chen Yujiang, a practitioner from Urumqi, was illegally sentenced to a five-year prison term in 2004. She was released in April 2009 from the Xinjiang Fifth Prison. During the five years of imprisonment, she was infected with the tuberculosis virus. When she returned home, she found that her parents had passed away three years earlier. She is destitute and homeless.
20. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Fuming and Ms. Shi Huafen Arrested
In the early morning of April 16, 2009, a dozen police officers broke into the home of Mr. Liu Fuming and his wife Ms. Shi Huafen. The police arrested them and confiscated their Falun Dafa books, CDs, and other property. Their whereabouts are unknown.
21. [Chongqing City] Ms. Ping Xiaomei Persecuted
On March 31, 2009, police from the Jiangjin 610 Office and Public Security Bureau arrested Ms. Ping Xiaomei, a Chongqing City Jiangjin area practitioner, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts show CDs and detained her in the Jiangjin Detention Center. They then took her to the Jiangjin Jinlangshan Detention Center. Police also ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa CDs.
