(Clearwisdom.net) During one of our group discussions, one of my fellow practitioners raised a question: Where are our divine thoughts? This was indeed a practical question. We felt we were doing good in cultivation. We were also very diligent, but when we were being persecuted and we suddenly met with difficulties, then we would become panic-stricken, and become powerless. We were thereafter persecuted by the evil at will. Dafa practitioner's righteous thoughts are divine thoughts. When our righteous thoughts are gone, our divine thoughts are also gone.
There is a fellow practitioner who is in his seventies, who was held in a detention center in 2001. He said, "I will sit until the cell wall collapses." He was later sentenced to one year in a labor camp. He was recently being held at the Public Security Bureau, in handcuffs and shackles. The guards were watching him at close range. He had a righteous thought, "Master, this is not my place; please help me get rid of the handcuffs and shackles." One of his hands was able to slowly slip out of the handcuff. The guard then found out and cuffed him even tighter. He did not give up; instead, his righteous thought became stronger. The guard became sleepy, and he was able to slip both hands out of the handcuffs. He then opened up the shackles and walked out of the detention center. When he encountered the wall of the Security Bureau compound, which was two to three meters high, he was able to jump and climb up to the top with ease. He then found a telephone pole near the other side of the wall, with which he was able to climb down to safety. He was therefore able to leave the detention center.
Divine thoughts will bring about divine powers, which come from strong righteous thoughts.
From this discussion, I realized that the crucial factor to success in cultivation is to develop strong righteous thoughts and a cultivator's confidence in oneself. The practitioners who are able to send strong righteous thoughts at the critical time have divine thoughts and supernatural powers.
