(Clearwisdom.net) On July 9, 2008 right before the Beijing Olympics, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Kong Qian and Ms. Li Xiyun, her mother, were illegally arrested. Policemen from Weifang City National Security Group and the 610 Office removed them from their dormitory of Weifang's Third Power Company. Ms. Kong is still in detention. On July 31, 2009, she was tried in secret at Hanting District Court of Weifang City.
To force Ms. Kong to renounce Falun Gong while in detention, police from Weifang City National Security Group tortured her with extreme cruelty. However, Ms. Kong upheld her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and the goodness of Falun Dafa. She has firmly rejected their demands to stop practicing.
In the first four months of her detention, she was interrogated every day. Six police, including Sun Wuxing and Guowen, took turns interrogating her 24 hours a day. They deprived her of sleep or even rest and severely limited restroom use. When she fell asleep, they poured cold water on her. She was not allowed to sleep for 4-5 days. When Ms. Kong fell asleep, they beat her with a thick stick and a broom.
Sun Wuxing and a policeman named Zhang continued torturing her after the stick broke. Zhang slapped her face more than 20 times. Ms. Kong's face was so swollen that she could hardly breathe and had convulsions. Since they did not want responsibility for murdering her, they immediately sent her to the emergency room of People's Hospital of Weifang City where her condition stabilized.
Shortly after her detention began, Ms. Kong was tortured so severely that her legs and feet became swollen and so painful that she could not sleep at night. She was also interrogated day and night. She started a hunger strike to protest all the torture she suffered. As a result, she was handcuffed to a cross. During her fourth hunger strike, she was tied up to a cross for seven days and nights and tortured to the verge of death. After that, she was force-fed in a hospital.
At the end of October 2008, Weifang City CCP authorities secretly transferred Ms. Kong to Changle Detention Center for further torture. The guards in the detention center forced her to sit on a steel chair and interrogated her for four consecutive days and nights. In order to prevent her from practicing the Falun Gong exercises, the guards shackled her feet so she could not move. She needed help to go to the restroom. In the winter, her hands and feet turned purple. Relatives sent gloves and socks to the detention center for her, but the guards refused to give them to her.
After more than a year of persecution, in January 2009 Ms. Kong developed a serious fever for more than 10 days. Her body was swollen and in great pain. She could not drink or eat anything, and her physical condition had deteriorated. When relatives heard this, they asked to visit her and for her release from detention. However, officials rejected their requests saying that Ms. Kong refused all medical treatment. After that, Ms. Kong suffered pain in her legs so severe that she could not sleep well. When she was examined in a hospital, doctors said that she needed to stay in the hospital for treatment. On March 14, 2009, Ms. Kong was transferred to Weifang City Detention Center.
Ms. Kong's mother, Ms. Li Xiyun, is a retired police officer. She was arrested with her daughter but immediately released because of a heart problem. Before she practiced Falun Gong, she suffered more than 10 ailments. Falun Gong saved her life. Her pension was cut off for more than seven years just because she practiced Falun Gong. She was harassed so severely that she became homeless. After her daughter was detained, she survived with the help of her friends and relatives.
We ask that people around the world help stop this persecution against innocent Chinese people that has been going on more than 10 years.
