Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liao Wuxiang was again illegally sentenced to imprisonment, this time for four years. She is currently being held and persecuted at Sichuan Province Women's Prison. She was previously sentenced to three years of imprisonment and brutally persecuted at Sichuan Women's Prison.
Ms. Liao Wuxiang started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Before she took up the practice, she had various illnesses. She had serious anemia; she was weak and lacked strength. She also had arthralgia, and her fingers were deformed and disabled from the illness. She had been trying to find a cure everywhere, but she could not find anything that helped with it. Doctors said that she needed an operation on her fingers. She lived in pain all day long, and she was unable to sleep at night. After she started practicing Falun Gong, she followed the characteristic of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Her health kept improving day by day, and her disabled fingers returned to normal. All her illnesses disappeared.
In 1999 the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong. Ms. Liao did not give up practicing cultivation. The head of the Jinyu Town Police Station (with the last name Hu) went with police officers Zhang Guangming and Yang Sanwa to Ms. Liao's home. They tried to force Ms. Liao to give up her practice.
In 2000, a gang of police from the Jinyu Town Police Station climbed over the wall of her yard and broke into Ms. Liao's home; they took her to Guanghan City Detention Center. Ms. Liao Wuxiang went on a hunger strike to protest, and she was force-fed. She was detained for 15 days before she was released.
At the end of 2000, Ms. Liao Wuxiang posted materials that exposed the persecution of Falun Gong, and for that she was arrested. She was detained at Guanghan Detention Center for more than three months. She was then sent to Hexing Brainwashing Center in Guanghan City and persecuted there for a month. Ms. Liao insisted on continuing to practice Falun Gong in the detention center; she was handcuffed and shackled. She was persecuted until she was only skin-and-bones and could not stand anymore. The police were afraid that she could die, and they let her go home.
In April 2001, Ms. Liao was taken to a so-called "Legal School", which was actually a brainwashing center. She was persecuted there for over nine months. Because she refused to write the three statements, she was transferred to Guanghan Detention Center and detained there for one month. She was then taken back by the Jinyu Town Police Station and detained for one night; the second day she was again sent to Guanghan Detention Center. This taking her back and forth occurred several times. Later, Ms. Liao shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" in the detention center. She often shouted this over a two-week period, and she eventually walked out of the detention center with dignity.
In the fall of 2004, Ms. Liao Wuxiang, along with several fellow practitioners, went to Zhongjiang County to clarify the truth. They were reported to the authorities and were arrested and taken to the Zhongjiang County Police Department. She was brutally beaten by police officer Xie Jiuzhou with a spiked club; her lower body turned black from the beating.
Liao Wuxiang went on a hunger strike to protest, and she was force-fed. The mixture she was force-fed was made of one liang (1 liang = 50 grams) of powdered milk, two liang of salt mixed with with ground Chinese prickly ash, chili powder, and ground pepper. Then it was mixed with water. (The one who did the force-feeding personally disclosed the mixture.) Ms. Liao was detained for three months, and she was force-fed for 28 days during that time. After March, she was transferred to Guanghan Detention Center and detained there for 8 months. Finally she was sentenced to three years of imprisonment and sent to Sichuan Women's Prison in Yangmahe, Jianyang, Sichuan Province to be persecuted.
On September 5, 2004 Ms. Liao was forced to stand, as punishment, in the prison; she was not allowed to go to bathroom and not allowed to sleep for eight days and nights. After that she was forced to stand in the blazing sun all day long, every day. If it rained, she was forced to stand in the rain. Because she did not give up her belief, the guards tied her up and made her sit under the blazing summer sun. She had blisters all over her lower body. In winter she was handcuffed to the stair rails and not allowed to sleep. She was sometimes cuffed to an iron bed with her limbs stretched out and she was beaten by the inmates. Her feet were punctured by the inmates with needles, causing them to swell so much that it scared people. She also lost two teeth from the forced-feedings of drugs. Guard Gu Qian (female) said that inmate Gou Yaoman did a good job of monitoring Falun Gong practitioners, and she reduced this inmate's term by one year.
Ms. Liao was brutally tortured at the prison. On September 27, 2007 she left the detention center.
In 2008, the Chinese Communist Party, with the excuse of security for the Olympic Games, arrested Ms. Liao again and detained her at Guanghan Detention Center. She was again sentenced to four years of imprisonment and sent to Sichuan Women's Prison in Yangmahe.
Personnel at Sichuan Women's Prison involved with persecuting Ms. Liao:
Gu Qian, guard responsible for persecuting practitioners in the 4th Ward
Other guards: Yan Hongmei, Hu Shan Hong, Zheng Li, Luo Chenyi, Gou Yaoman
The Persecution of Ms. Zeng Yunfeng
Ms. Zeng Yunfeng of Fanchi Village (in Xinglong Town, Guanghan) started practicing Falun Gong in 1999. Before practicing Falun Gong, she had many illness, including tuberculosis, mammary gland proliferation, back pain, female diseases, and pancreatitis. She had been seeking treatment for a long time and had never stopped taking medicine.
In the beginning of 1999, Ms. Zeng started practicing Falun Gong. Within one month, all her illnesses were gone.
After the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Ms. Zeng was pressured to give up her belief. Her home was ransacked during their search for Falun Gong books, and she was forced to give her fingerprint. Ms. Zeng's ID was taken away, and she was placed under surveillance. She was forced to attend brainwashing sessions.
In May 2000 Dai Min, Xu Hua, Xiang Bingbing, and others from the Xinglong Town Police Station (more than 10 people) tried to force Ms. Zeng to give up her belief. She said, "Who can guarantee that I will not get sick? If no one can guarantee this, I will practice Falun Gong." Xu Hua slapped her face. They then tried to force her to sign the statement that she would give up practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Zeng did not sign. Xiang Bingbing, He Mounv and others (four people) grabbed Ms. Zeng's hands and feet; they took her away and forced her to undergo brainwashing sessions for a week.
One day in October 2001, Hei Shijie, Xu Hua, and Zeng Shenghua from the Xinglong Town Police Station, and production team leaders took Ms. Zeng from her home. At that time she was barefoot, and was having her period. She even did not have time to put on shoes and a sanitary napkin before she was taken away. Ms. Zeng was taken to Deyang Brainwashing Center and persecuted for three months.
In May 2002 a gang of people from the Xinglong Town Police Station took Ms. Zeng to Guanghan Detention Center and locked her up for more than 20 days. Then they detained her under the pretext of "preserving public order" for 15 days. This time, Ms. Zeng was detained for a total of 42 days.
