(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Duan Xinyue was subjected to illegal detention several times for remaining steadfast in his belief. He died as a result of the persecution on September 29, 2010.

Mr. Duan's older brother Mr. Duan Xinshu also died as a result of the persecution, on May 25, 2004. Mr. Duan Xinyue was unable to return home for his brother's funeral under the harsh circumstances of the persecution. Grieving for his sons, their elderly father could not bear such a traumatic blow. He became ill, and also passed away.

Practicing Falun Gong brought tremendous changes to Mr. Duan Xinyue, both physically and mentally. He eliminated his bad and unhealthy habits and became a good person who was considerate of others.

Since the communist regime began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Duan was held twice in the Jize County Detention Center, in 2001. He was first detained there for more than three months in early 2001. The second detention was in December 2001, following his traveling by bicycle for three days to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong.

Mr. Duan was subsequently arrested several more times. One time, he was able to break through the detention at the local police department but had to live away from home to avoid additional persecution. Officers from the local police department and the police station frequently went to his home to harass his family. Sometimes they went so far as to climb over the courtyard wall of Mr. Duan's home in the middle of the night to see if he was home. Under this intense pressure, Mr. Duan was unable to return home.

Mr. Duan's brother, Mr. Duan Xinshu, was arrested by Handan City 610 Office agents once again on September 25, 2003, and forcibly sent to a brainwashing facility where he was subjected to long-term abuse and torture. He became emaciated and died on May 25, 2004. Their father died of grief and illness not long after.

Mr. Duan Xinyue was arrested by officers from the Jize County Police Department on September 9, 2007. He was then directly sent to the Handan City Forced Labor Camp for a two-year detention. Guard Zuo Tao shocked him with an electric baton on September 20, 2007 in the library.

The intensified pressure and hard labor at the camp caused great harm to Mr. Duan's health. He began suffering acute pain in his stomach, which became worse and worse. In his last days, he vomited blood many times. He died on September 29, 2010.
