(Clearwisdom.net) LYON, France-Shen Yun Performing Arts staged its last show in France's third-largest city, Lyon, on Sunday March 21, 2010.
Ms. Beryl Maillard, Consul of the Dominican Republic, said that the show causes people to look and reflect within.
"There are many elements which promote reflection within. We were swept by the charm of the music, song, and dance. We come to understand other things on a different note," she said.
Ms. Maillard said that watching the show gave her a soothing and peaceful feeling, and put her in a better state.
"It is calm and this is what makes it beautiful," she said.
"It is the calm amongst the storm. It is very energetic, they dance a lot, it is very powerful. There are movements that are very powerful, very strong, however, one remains calm. It is tremendous."
In short, Ms. Maillard said that the show is "...a wonderful image of colors, calmness, song, and wisdom."
Real Estate Executive Discovers "A real gift" in Shen Yun
Among the other audience members, Michel Gouillard, general secretary of the real estate group Alliade, said that the evening had allowed him to discover a different sort of beauty, "To discover such a high quality dance for the first time was a real gift" said Mr. Gouillard.
Two specific aspects of the show were particularly striking for him. Firstly, the "tonicity and dynamism" of dancers, and secondly, "the smooth movements ... I did not see any individuality but really an homogenous team of dancers who really were quite moving."
Mr. Gouillard especially enjoyed what he called an "eyeblink to the current Chinese government." Shen Yun offers its audiences a glimpse into contemporary China with two pieces depicting the persecution of the meditation discipline, Falun Dafa.
In concluding, Mr. Gouillard said to Shen Yun, "Congratulations! Please keep on and be back soon in Lyon."
