(Clearwisdom.net) I often hear fellow practitioners talking about getting rid of fear. I'd like to share my insights in this regard.
The Chinese character "fear" consists of two radicals: "Mind/heart" (left) and "white/clear" (right), meaning that the heart is empty. When someone is afraid, is his heart empty? As a cultivator, when one is fearful, one will not be able to keep the Fa in mind and will exhibit signs of fear. In this case, why don't we keep Dafa in mind? I think that reciting the Fa is the most effective way to keep Dafa in our mind at all times. When your mind is full of Dafa, it is not empty.
I have experienced fear. In 2000, I did not keep the Fa foremost in my mind when I distributed truth clarification materials, so I was fearful and was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I did not have the Fa uppermost in my mind, so I gave in when I was persecuted and left a stain on my cultivation. Master's compassion and Dafa disciples' tolerance gave me a chance to return to cultivation and to make amends. In 2005, thanks to fellow practitioners' righteous thoughts, I came back to Dafa and resumed cultivation.
The moment I received Zhuan Falun again from a fellow practitioner, I made a vow that I would recite the Fa.
During the next five years, I continued to recite the Fa, one or two paragraphs per day. I recited the Fa on my way to work, at work, and while walking. Paragraph by paragraph, section by section, and lecture by lecture, I did it. Although it was slow and took half a year to recite one lecture, I made myself truly recite the Fa and keep the Fa in my mind. When I was reciting the first three lectures all at once, I became determined that no evil interference could stop me. Imperceptibly, fear has been truly eliminated from my mind. I have broken out of the fear of distributing true-clarification materials and feel the power of Dafa is real.
In 2007, during the time that I was reciting Lecture Six in Zhuan Falun, I established a truth clarification materials production site. As I recited the Fa more and more, Dafa bestowed infinite wisdom upon me. At first, I had no computer skills. Within two years, however, I learned nearly all the skills necessary for truth-clarification projects, including assisting people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations on-line, operating a printer, burning discs, word processing, designing and making Falun Dafa symbols, printing disc labels, downloading and making a master disc, producing photoshop pictures and disc labels, installing operating systems, converting VCDs into DVDs, etc. I learned many of the skills by myself and taught them to other practitioners. I know this is wisdom Master gave me to encourage me.
In between the times I recited Zhuan Falun, I also recited Hong Yin on my way to and from work. This is also a process of raising one's understanding. At the beginning, I only recited part of Hong Yin. Then I set another goal for myself: to recite all of Hong Yin once a day for one year.
In 2009, I recited Hong Yin every day on my way to and from work. I kept doing this and, by December 31, 2009, I had recited Hong Yin 365 times. Just randomly picking a poem from Hong Yin now, I can recite it immediately. No matter how much time passes I will not forget. This enlightened me that I must set a goal for Fa study, because in the process of reaching it, I can raise my xinxing. Never give up until the goal is reached.
The last day of 2009 was my happiest day, because on that day I finished reciting the last lecture in Zhuan Falun and fulfilled my commitment. Cultivation in Dafa is infinite and forever. Therefore, since New Year's day, I started another round of reciting the Fa. I will recite the Fa more fluently, bear the Fa in mind, and keep my heart immersed in the Fa. Only in this way can we do well the three things that Master expects of us.
