The Fuzhou City 610 Office, Fuzhou City National Security Team, and both the county and the district level National Security Teams in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province have illegally arrested and detained at least 28 Falun Gong practitioners over the past two years. Among them, eight practitioners have been released, seven practitioners are still imprisoned in Fujian Province Women's Prison, three are imprisoned at Fuzhou City Prison, two are imprisoned at the Women's Forced Labor Camp, one is imprisoned at the Fuzhou City Forced Labor Camp, four are detained at the detention center, and two practitioners' whereabouts are unknown. Below are further details about these persecution cases by the Fuzhou City 610 Office and police. All the practitioners listed below are from Fuzhou City unless otherwise noted.
Mr. Zheng Shizhen was arrested by the Xiadu Police on January 10, 2008, while handing out materials that clarify the facts about Falun Gong. He was detained at the Second Detention Center in Fuzhou City. Later he was released.
On the night of March 27, 2008, 70-year-old Ms. Zhao Fengrong was arrested by the Huada Police near Tongpan Elementary School. The police then raided her home and took away her computer, printer, CDs, and other personal belongings. Zhao Fengrong was sentenced to three years in prison and she is currently imprisoned at the Fuzhou City Women's Prison.
On the afternoon of May 4, 2008, Ms. Chen Xiaohong and Ms. Li Liqin were arrested by the Huada Police while handing out DVDs that clarify the facts about Falun Gong near Huada Street, Gulou District in Fuzhou City. The police also raided their homes. The police officers involved in persecuting these practitioners include Li Ping from the Hongshan Police Station in Gulou District and Chen Xiao (female) from the Huada Police Station in Fuzhou City. The Gulou District Court held cursory trials against these two practitioners and sentenced Chen Xiaohong to three years in prison and Li Liqin to three and a half years in prison.
On the afternoon of May 5, 2008, Mr. Lin Wanmao was arrested while at work by the Fuzhou City National Security Team. The police also raided his home and took away his laptop, CD player, Falun Dafa books, satellite receiver, stamps, and other personal belongings. The police officers involved in the arrest and house raid were Lin Feng and Zhou Xun.
On the afternoon of May 9, 2008, Ms. Chen Xue, a teacher in the Computer Science Department at Fujian Province Engineering College, was arrested from her office in the college by the National Security Team. The police sent her to the Hongshan Police Station. Chen Xue returned home the night of May 23.
On the night of May 27, 2008, Mr. Chen Heng was arrested by the police. Later that night, the police also raided his home and took away his computer, printer and other personal belongings. Judge Zhuo Jianwei from Gulou District Court sentenced Mr. Chen to four and a half years in prison. Currently, he is imprisoned at the Third Team, Fifth Brigade in Fuzhou City Prison.
On May 31, 2008, Ms. Lu Huizhu was reported to the police while handing out materials that clarify the facts about Falun Gong near Jintai Road. She was able to evade capture; however, the police from the Dongjie Police Station arrested her on June 2 and raided her home. Lu Huizhu was sentenced to three years in prison.
On the afternoon of July 24, 2008, Ms. Liu Ziqing was arrested by the Yuefeng Police. The police then raided her home and took away her computer and 3,000 yuan in cash. Liu Ziqing was sentenced to two years' forced labor.
On November 21, 2008, Ms. Chen Miaocheng, who was more than 60 years old at the time, was arrested by police officers Zheng Youguang and Sun Jinyun from the Guxi Police Station while clarifying the facts about Falun Gong on Yangqiao Road. Later, the police raided her home and took away her computer and other personal belongings. Chen Miaocheng was able to return home on December 5, 2008.
On December 14, 2008, Ms. Xu Lianying and Ms. Wei Guanzhu were reported to the police while clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to the villages near Gushan. Police officers Li Deqi and Chen Zhi from the Yuanyang Police Station of the Jinan Police Department arrested them. Currently they are imprisoned at Fujian Province Womens' Prison. Ms. Xu is over 60 years old, and her son is paralyzed at home and needs her to take care of him. The Jinan District Court sentenced Wei Guanzhu to four years in prison and Xu Lianying to two years in prison.
On February 7, 2009, Mr. Huang Minghui from Xiazhu Village, Changle City was arrested by the chief of the National Security Team from the Changle City Police Station, Ren Fei, and police officer Xiao Shunguo. The police did not explain the reason for arresting him, nor did they show a warrant. Huang Minghui was sentenced to four years in prison and he is currently imprisoned at Fuzhou City Prison.
On the afternoon of February 26, 2009, Ms. Zhang Jianhua was arrested by police officer Xiao Zhengyu from the Huada Police Station while handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs at a residential community. Later, the police also raided her home and took away her computer, satellite receiver and other personal belongings. Police officer Xiao Zhengyu's cellphone number is 86-13763871963. Zhang Jianhua was sentenced to three years in prison and she is currently imprisoned at Fujian Province Womens' Prison.
On March 6, 2009, Ms. Wei Chunping from Wuhan City, who went to Fuzhou City for temporary work, was arrested by the police from the Fuzhou City Railway Police Department while clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at the Fuzhou City Train Station on her way back to Wuhan. Wei Chunping was sentenced to four years in prison.
On the night of May 15, 2009, Ms. Wei Jinying and Ms. Yu Jing, both over 70 years old, were arrested by the police from the Gudong Police Station. At around midnight, police raided Wei Jinying and Yu Jing's homes. Wei Jinying and Yu Jing returned home on June 8, 2009. Afterward, assistant prosecutor Su Yixian from the Gulou District Procuratorate charged Yu Jing. Gulou District Court Judge Zhuo Jianwei oversaw the case. At 8:30 a.m. on January 28, 2010, Gulou District Court held a trial against Yu Jing. Many local Falun Gong practitioners attended the trial. During the trial, Yu Jing clarified the facts about Falun Gong to everyone in attendance. Her attorney defended her as innocent based on the Constitution and pointed out that the prosecutor's evidence was invalid. The trial ended hastily after just 40 minutes.
On the morning of June 23, 2009, Ms. Guan Yujing was arrested by the National Security Team. The police officers who participated in the arrest include Fuzhou City National Security Team Chief Lin Wenqiang, Fuzhou City Police Department head Wang Xin and police officer Yan. On January 30, 2010, Judge Chen Wen from Taijiang District Court (male, telephone number 86-591-83827783) held a trial against Guan Yujing, during which she pleaded innocent.
On the morning of July 22, 2009, Ms. Chen Junhui, a 66-year-old retiree, was arrested by the Guxi Police Station while she was away from home. The police first took away her fliers which clarified the facts about Falun Gong and the 1,000 yuan cash in her bag, and then raided her home. Chen Junhui returned home on the night of July 29, 2009.
On August 5, 2009, Ms. Jiang Jianping from Shaowu City was arrested in Fuzhou City by the police. Jiang Jianping suffered from brutal persecution at Shaowu Detention Center after the arrest. Currently her whereabouts are unknown. Deputy Chief of the Shaowu City Police Department Wu Yuese participated in the persecution against Ms. Jiang. Mr. Huang Mingqiu from Sanming was also arrested at the same time. Huang Mingqiu was sentenced to forced labor, and he is currently imprisoned at Fuzhou City Forced Labor Camp.
On September 16, 2009, police from the National Security Team arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Fan Kejuan, who is a retired teacher from Fujian Province Normal University, Mr. Ye Qiaoming, who is an employee of Fujian Province Normal University, and his wife Ms. Wang Xiuqin. Both Fan Kejuan and Wang Xiuqin are over 70 years old. The police also forcibly took away Ye Qiaoming's son's computer. Police officer Zhou Xun (telephone number 86-591-87623013) from the National Security Team of the Fuzhou City Police Department carried out the persecution. Fan Kejuan was sentenced to three years in prison and Wang Xiuqin was sentenced to forced labor.
On the morning of March 4, 2010, the Cangshan District Court held a trial against Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ye Qiaoming. The prosecutors were Chen Xiaoyan and Chen Junyun from the Cangshan District Procuratorate and the judge was Cai Wenjian. Attorney Ye Qiaoming, hired from Beijing, fully prepared for the defense and requested the prosecutor's witness to appear in court based on the law. Because the case was fabricated by the Procuratorate and the court, the court notified the attorney that the trial was canceled 30 minutes before it was to begin.
On the morning of October 29, 2009, Ms. Huang Lianying from Sancha Street, Cangshan District was arrested by the police while handing out materials that clarify the facts about Falun Gong at the villages near Gushan. Huang Lianying has since returned home.
On the afternoon of March 23, 2010, Mr. Li Deyue was arrested in his own shop by the police and sent to the Xiadu Police Station in Cangshan District.
On the morning of April 5, 2010, Ms. Zhang Liyu from Cangshan District was arrested from her hometown of Baiyun Village, Yongtai County by the Baiyun Police Station. First, she was detained at Yongtai County Detention Center. On April 7, she was sent to Fuzhou City by the National Security Police from Yongtai County.
In the early morning of April 8, 2010, police broke into Ms. Huang Meiying's home and arrested her. They also raided her home and took away two computers, one printer, some printed materials and CDs that clarified the facts about Falun Gong, and other personal belongings. Currently Ms. Huang is being detained at First Detention Center in Fuzhou City.
