Under gentle morning sunshine, more than 300 Falun Gong practitioners had a group practice on Edinburgh Square. A waist drum performance took place after the exercises, and was followed by music performances by young practitioners. May 13 is also Master Li's birthday. Practitioners many times in unison said, "Happy birthday Master."
In recent years, many new practitioners have joined the practice. When speaking about the practice, Ms. Zheng and Miss Liao were excited. Ms. Zheng said, "I think Dafa teaches people to be kind. I became healthy after practicing Falun Gong and my mind is clearer."
Miss Liao said, "I feel my body is lighter, I feel less hardship than before. I no longer have those symptoms. I am delighted to have found Falun Dafa and I feel there is hope for the future."
The celebration caught the attention of many passersby, including tourists. One Chinese tourist took photos and said, "I've seen such scenes before. Several hundred people practice together in the morning and evening. Seeing such a scene in Hong Kong, I am excited and it reminds me of scenes from the past in the mainland."
A local resident was watching the exercise demonstration and taking photos. He said, "The scene is beautiful and rarely seen. Why do I often see marches condemning the persecution?" After learning that many practitioners were tortured to death in China and local practitioners were calling on the government to stop the persecution, he understood right away, "Jiang Zemin was in power in 1999. It must be he who initiated the persecution. The Chinese Communist Party is afraid of good people."
The celebration event concluded before noon.
