(Clearwisdom.net) Two months ago, we published the first hand account by 16-year-old high school student Qu Jianguo, detailing how he had recovered from terminal cancer, "High School Student Survives Bone Cancer after Practicing Falun Gong" (http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2010/3/15/115355.html). After fruitless and expensive treatments, Jianguo started practicing Falun Gong, and quickly recovered. In his heartwarming account, he wrote, "My legs are now completely recovered, with no pain at all. I can walk normally, my hair has regrown, and I will soon return to my school!" Unfortunately, his story has taken an unexpected turn for the worse.
After his story was published, Qu Jianguo's family has been threatened and pressured by officials from multiple levels of the Chinese Communist Party. They are pressuring him to sign a statement claiming that his illness was not healed from practicing Falun Dafa, and if he refuses he will face expulsion from school or worse. They have harassed him and his family multiple times, including detaining Jianguo and his sister after a follow-up visit to the hospital.
Qu Jianguo is a young man whose only "offense" was to tell the world with joy about his miraculous recovery. From any angle, for any sane human being, this story should be received with hope and joy. Yet under the Chinese Communist Party's rule, Qu Jianguo is facing just the opposite. He is being forced to go against his conscience and publicly denounce the faith that saved his life from certain death, or face the prospect of expulsion from school and imprisonment. What kind of regime is this? This is perhaps a perfect example of how the CCP does not only forbid people from following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but also acting directly the opposite of these noble principles.
