(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 12 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Gaoyang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Jinying Arrested
Ms. Li Jinying, about 47 years old, is a resident of Xinliuzuo Village, Gaoyang County. On the evening of July 23, 2010, Ms. Li was arrested while distributing truth-clarification materials. At about 11 a.m., the next day, the police called her family to notify them that Ms. Li was detained at the Liucun Detention Center in Anxin County. Her family went to the detention center right away to deliver clothes to her but they were not allowed to see her.

2. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gu Fengqin Sent to Brainwashing Center
Directed by the officials from the Jiaohe City 610 Office, the local police went to Ms. Gu Fengqin's home and arrested her, at 3:00 a.m. on July 28, 2010. She was then sent to a brainwashing center. Several practitioners in the area were harassed at around the same time.
3. [Boli County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gao Shuhua Arrested
In 2007, the police from the Boli County Police Department forcibly sent Ms. Gao Shuhua to the local hospital to be persecuted. She managed to escape but in order to avoid further persecution, she could not go home.
Around July 20, 2010, she was arrested. She is being detained at the Boli County Detention Center.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Fenglan and Ms. Yuan Yawen on Trial
Ms. Cao Fenglan and Ms. Yuan Yawen faced trial at the Automobile Development District Court in Changchun City, on July 28, 2010. Ms. Yuan's trial was held first but a verdict was not reached. Ms. Yuan's husband works in another city and their daughter was left home alone without care.
Ms. Cao defended herself in the court. She told her daughter that she was tortured to the point of incontinence. The verdict in this trial was also not reached.
5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Chaoyong Arrested
Mr. Li Chaoyong, in his 30's, is a practitioner from Faku County, Shenyang City. Recently, local police arrested and detained him at the Faku County Detention Center. His father, in his 80's, was left home alone without care. Mr. Li's relatives went to the police station and the detention center to request his release. Their requests were rejected and they were not allowed to see Mr. Li.
6. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Gu Qinghe Arrested
On July 23, 2010, when Mr. Gu Qinghe from Bakeshu Village, Baiqi Town went to the local police station to register his daughter's residency, he was arrested by police officer Zhang Yu.
7. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Junjie and Ms. Cui Huilian Arrested
Police officers from the Fengtai District Domestic Security Division, the Fengtai County 610 Office and the Shiliuyuan Police Station, totaling 10 people, arrested Ms. Chen Junjie in her home, at around 5 a.m. on July 20, 2010. Two computers and one laptop were confiscated.
At around 7 p.m. on July 21, 2010, police officers from the Fengtai District Domestic Security Division, the Fengtai County 610 Office and the Shiliuyuan Police Station, totaling 5 people, arrested Ms. Cui Huilian at home. One computer was confiscated.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Dong Guangwen Sentenced
Mr. Dong Guangwen, in his 50's, lived at the Yingzezhou residential area in Nancaiyuan, Yanqing County, Beijing. On April 21, 2009, he was arrested and detained in a detention center. Recently, he was sentenced to four years in prison. Officials from the detention center notified his family that he would be transferred.
9. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zhenhua and Ms. Liu Yugui Sentenced to Forced Labor
10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Baishun Harassed
Officials from the Weifang City 610 Office and the Xiashan District 610 Office went to Mr. Zhang Baishun's home at Zhanglingjie Village, Xiaokou District, Weifang City, on the afternoon of July 27, 2010. Nobody was at home, so they asked the neighbors if they knew the whereabouts of Mr. Zhang.
These officials have gone to Zhanglingjie Village three times to harass practitioners since July 20, 2010, when they arrested Ms. Liu Jinying from Zhanglingjie Village.
On July 7, 2010, the same officials went to practitioner Yue's home at Xiejiazhuang to ransack her home. Ms. Yue was not home at the time. When nothing was found, they left.
11. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xinghua Arrested
Five police officers from the Hanting District Domestic Security Division in Weifang City broke into Ms. Zhang Xinghua's home and arrested her at around 10 a.m. on July 22, 2010. They also ransacked the home and confiscated all Falun Gong books. The police interrogated Ms. Zhang. That same afternoon, Ms. Zhang was released after 10,000 yuan was extorted from her family. Before she left, the police asked her to report to them on July 26, to explain how it came to be that her declaration was published on the Internet.

12. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiang's Home Ransacked
Three officials from the Fushan Town 610 Office in Zhaoyuan City, broke into Ms. Liu Xiang's home and ransacked the place, at around 3:30 p.m. on July 26, 2010. They confiscated six Falun Gong books, more than 30 CDs, and two pictures of the founder of Falun Gong.
13. [Guantao County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Lanying Arrested
The police arrested Ms. Sun Lanying on the morning of July 27, 2010. Two other practitioners' homes were ransacked.
14. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Yupeng Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
Mr. Zhang Yupeng, in his 30's, is a resident of Jinan City. In June 2010, he was reported to the authorities while clarifying truth to people and was arrested. In mid July 2010, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor by the director of Tianqiao District 610 Office.
15. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Cao Guoxin Arrested and Sent to Xinjian County Forced Labor Camp Last Week
16. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Teng Zhongyi and His Son Sent to Brainwashing Center
The police from the Zunhua City Domestic Security Division and officials from the 610 Office, totaling 6 people, broke into Mr. Teng Zhongyi's home, at around 10 a.m. on July 21, 2010. The only person at home was his 14-year-old grandson. They asked the boy to call his father and have him come to the house. After Mr. Teng's son arrived, they started to ransack the place. They confiscated one computer, one laptop and several Falun Gong books. When Mr. Teng arrived he was arrested along with his son and they were sent to a brainwashing center. The police also ransacked Mr. Teng's sons home, but nothing was found. His son was released that afternoon. Since Mr. Teng refused to renounce Falun Gong, he was sent to a detention center three days later.
17. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Shuqin Arrested
The police from the Kexuecheng Police Department and the 610 Office arrested Ms. Li Shuqin's at home at around noon on July 28, 2010. She was then sent to the Mianyang City Brainwashing Center.
18. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lin Liying Arrested
Ms. Lin Liying, in her 40's, has a business in downtown Meizhou City. Her hometown was Chaozhou City. On the night of July 23, 2010, she went out to post truth-clarification materials but never came back. Her whereabouts are unknown.
19. [Fu'an City, Fujian Province] Mr. Liu Jiansheng Arrested
20. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Local Police Arrest Ms. He Ximei
21. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Gu Hong Arrested and Sent to Pingdingshan First Detention Center on July 23, 2010
22. [Liquan County, Shannxi Province] Practitioner Hu Arrested
Practitioner Hu, about 60 years old, is from Liquan County. On April 25, 2010, he was arrested by police officers from the Liquan County Police Department. They also confiscated a computer, a TV, some CDs, and 40,000 yuan in cash from his home. His whereabouts are unknown.
23. [Mian County, Shannxi Province] Mr. Liu Jihong and Ms. Hou Xiuying Sentenced
Around noon on May 22, 2010, Mr. Liu Jihong and Ms. Hou Xiuying were arrested in Luoyang County. They are currently detained in Luoyang County. On May 23, 2010, police officers went to two practitioners homes in Luoyang County and confiscated their personal belongings.
Mr. Liu Jihong, 38 years old, is an employee of the Mian County Salt Bureau. His wife, Ms. Luo Yan, recently left home to avoid repeated harassment by officials from the Wuhou Police Station, the Mian County Police Department and the 610 Office. Their 10-year-old child is left home alone without care.
24. [Wuhai City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Wangxiang Detained
On the morning of July 13, 2010, officers from the Jinhe Police Station in Dongxihu District arrested Ms. Hu Wangxiang while she was distributing Falun Gong materials. At around 6:00 p.m. that day, officers from the Dongxihu District Police Department transferred her to the Dongxihu District Police Department. The next morning, she was sent to the Wuhai City First Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
On July 27, 2010, the police from the Jinhe Police Station notified Ms. Hu's son that he could deliver clothes for her. She was then transferred to another detention center and is waiting to be tried.
