(Clearwisdom.net) The Political and Judiciary Committee of Jiaohe City, Jilin Province, and the 610 Office in Jiaohe City collaborated together on the morning of July 28, 2010, to orchestrate a massive illegal arrest of Falun Gong practitioners. Police officers in Jiaohe City arrested Falun Gong practitioners in the district and forced them to undergo brainwashing at the No. 10 Middle School in Jiaohe City. The "brainwashing helpers" were recruited officers from various local police stations. Their inexcusable job was attempting to force the innocent law-abiding practitioners to give up their belief in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gu Fengqin lives at Minzhu Street. She has been sent to forced labor camps twice before. Officers from the sub-district office at Minzhu Street and officers from the Minzhu Police Station had constantly harassed her. On July 28, before dawn, the police sneaked into her home and harassed her for two hours, culminating in her being forcibly taken to a brainwashing center. This left Ms. Gu's elderly mother, who is not capable of taking care of herself, scared to death and unable to stop crying. Ms Gu Fengqin had no income. She and her son lived with her parents and cared for her elderly parents and her mentally ill younger brother.
Early on the morning of July 28, ten officials from Songjiang Township Government went in three cars, along with local police, went to arrest Falun Gong practitioner Tian Fusen. Assisted by the local security officer, they climbed the garden wall to enter the backyard. They blocked the entrances to the home and pounded on the windows and doors. It was raining very hard, so Tian's family members opened the door to let them in. As soon as the police entered the house, they illegally arrested Tian, and sent him to the brainwashing center at the No. 10 Middle School in Jiaohe City. Mr. Tian had recovered from cancer after practicing Falun Gong, and since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, he had been illegally detained, fined and harassed many times, including being sent to a forced labor camp twice.
Early on the morning of July 28, Falun Gong practitioner Li Shuqin of Naizishan, Jiaohe City was also illegally arrested when she was at home. Ms. Li was arrested and sent to a forced labor camp on June 7, but she was later released as the labor camp refused to admit her. After talking to her, the officer said he would take her home in the afternoon. This was a lie however, and he instead took her to a brainwashing center, where persecutors attempted to force Ms. Li to give up her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
On the morning of July 28, Mr. Song Jiang, another Falun Gong practitioner in Chashuling, was also illegally arrested and sent to a brainwashing center. Two days later, on the morning of July 30, several people from the 610 Office of Jiaohe City and the Chang'an sub-district office, including the community secretary, went to Falun Gong practitioner Wang Rongxia's home to question her. They lied to Ms. Wang's family, saying that she would take a class and would be back in two days. Wang Rongxia was instead taken to a brainwashing center. Ms. Wang's mother-in-law suffers from cancer and was left home alone to take care of herself. Ms. Wang was illegally arrested by officers from the Minzhu Police Station in Jiaohe City on July 11. She was detained for one day and was released after her family had given the police officials 3000 yuan for her release.
At around 2:00 a.m. on July 28, officers from Minzhu sub-district office, and officers from the Minzhu Police Station also went to Falun Gong practitioner Dong Xianrui's home to harass and question him. Mr. Dong had retired from the Minzhu sub-district office in Jiaohe City. He was arrested on July 11, and was released after his family was forced to pay 3,000 yuan to the corrupt officials. Dong Xianrui's pension had been suspended since January 2009. Because he has been harassed many times over the last few years, he was forced to leave home a few times to be safe from persecution.
Early on the morning of July 28, officers harassed Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Cao Shumei and Ms. Tan Shuqing. They were arrested on July 11, and were released after their families were forced to pay 3,000 yuan each. The second day after Ms. Cao and Ms. Tan returned home, the officers came again to search their home, and informed them they were to be sent to a forced labor camp in the next few days. Both women were forced to leave home in a hurry, so when the officers came to arrest Ms. Cao and Ms. Tan, they failed to do so.
On the morning of July 28, officers from the sub-district office of Minzhu Street and from the Minzhu Police Station also went to Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Mingying's home to harass and question her for a long time. Ms. Sun had already been sent to the forced labor camp twice. They also harassed Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Guosheng. Zhang had been illegally detained and sent to labor camp twice. Quite a few officers from the sub-district office of Chang'an Street and Chang'an Police Station also went to Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Shuzhi's home. They stayed there for over five hours - knocking on the door, shouting, and harassing Zhang. Zhang had also been sent to labor camp twice. The police also went to Jiang Haijun's workplace in an attempt to illegally arrest him.
In the last two days around 3:00 p.m., quite a few officers from the Minzhu Police Station of Jiaohe City went to Falun Gong practitioner Jia Lizhu's home to harass him. Jia Lizhu is a retiree from Jiaohe City Fertilizer Plant.
The brainwashing sessions were so full that many rooms on the second and third floors of the student dormitory in the No. 10 Middle School were used. Practitioners were detained separately in each room, and their families were not allowed to meet with them, or to bring them anything. They were completely isolated from the outside world until the brainwashing sessions ended.
