(Clearwisdom.net) The 65th UN General Assembly Summit on Millennium Development Goals opened in New York on September 20, 2010. Falun Gong practitioners in New York protested against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) persecution of Falun Gong at the UN Plaza and Waldorf Astoria Hotel from September 21-23. Their protest started at 9:00 a.m. every day and ended at 7:00 p.m. Many media reporters photographed the practitioners' protest, took informational materials and interviewed practitioners.
Ms. Yi, organizer of the protest, said the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao was attending the summit. Falun Gong practitioners gathered there every day to demand the end of the persecution of Falun Gong and bringing Jiang, Luo, Liu and Zhou to justice. Falun Gong practitioners, a group of innocent people who only improved their own health and morality, were demonized by the CCP. However, practitioners believe that good will be rewarded and evil will be punished. "We are here to call for more kind-hearted people to join us to end the brutal persecution. We hope the Chinese delegation will take this opportunity to learn more about Falun Gong. Justice will eventually win the battle. We believe that day is close."
Attendees of the UN Summit and local residents expressed admiration for Falun Gong practitioners' peacefulness, persistence and diligence. Manhattan resident Nadia said she has known about Falun Gong for ten years. She couldn't understand why the CCP was afraid of such peaceful people. She was touched by their dedication. Nadia said would like to learn Falun Gong.
The three-day activity provided an opportunity for those attending the UN Summit and those working in Manhattan to learn the true story of Falun Gong. Some of them had already learned about the persecution and showed great support and sympathy. A delegation from China was shocked to see the Falun Gong practitioners' protest. The practitioners called out to them, "Falun Dafa is good!" A middle-aged lady was protesting at the UN Plaza because of her lost investment in China. She talked with the Falun Gong practitioners about the persecution and took informational materials.
