(Clearwisdom.net) I often could not help but marvel at the supernormal capabilities of practitioners in China when I read about their wonderful deeds of validating the Fa. I also often asked myself why there seems to be few such cases reported among practitioners outside of China. Reflecting on my experiences of validating the Fa and saving sentient beings over the past ten years, I have actually witnessed a lot of wonders of Dafa and the benevolence of Master, and realized that as practitioners, we were on the path of becoming divine beings the first day we began our cultivation. Whenever I truly met the Fa’s requirements, my thoughts would become clear and Master would help me to do to whatever needed to be done. Master said, “Cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master” (Zhuan Falun).
Wanting to go to China to investigate reports of organ harvesting
When the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocity of organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners was exposed to the world in 2006, we were stunned and didn't really know what to do. I thought, when big news occurs in ordinary society, reporters rush to the front lines to report it. So I believed that I should follow their method and go to China to report it. Arrangements were made and I went to the Chinese consulate the next day to apply for a visa.
While I was waiting at the consulate, practitioners were holding a news conference outside to expose the crimes of organ harvesting in China. I did not become emotional, but felt an urgent need to expose these crimes and save sentient beings. My visa application was rejected, but I kept thinking about how I would be able to interview a recipient of an organ transplant. Because my thoughts were in line with the Fa, Master was able to help me.
A person in China phoned me a few days later. He said that he learned of my name from other people who were appealing at the government offices in Beijing. He had recently had a kidney transplant and was required to stay in a clean and comfortable environment for a period of time after the operation. However, he was constantly being harassed by the local police, as they wanted to evict him. They would not let him rest and kept opening all the windows to his home. He was concerned that his kidney might get infected, and hoped that if he could tell his story to the international media, they might be able to help him. I managed to get a lot of information from him, including the phone number of his transplant surgeon. So I called the surgeon and told him the facts about Falun Dafa. All I had was the righteous thought of wanting to interview people, and so Master brought the relevant people to me.
Reporting on Shen Yun Performing Arts
The first time I went to do reporting on Shen Yun Performing Arts, I was given a ticket for the back row of the theater. However, I wanted to be around other audience members in order to interview them, so I exchanged my ticket with another practitioner for a seat closer to the stage. When the show started, I noticed that the seats around me remained empty and that there was no one sitting close to me to interview. I recalled that when I first got the ticket, a fellow practitioner said to me, “Don’t choose your seat, the one you get is supposed to be yours,” but I just didn’t listen to her.
During the intermission, I met an acquaintance walking back to his seat. It turned out that he was sitting in the back row next to my original seat. He introduced me to a prominent Chinese person that was with him, whom I interviewed. Master had arranged everything, but I was too self-centered and anxious to interview people, so I used my human notions to try to get the best results. I decided to let go of my human thoughts and put my faith in Master. In all the following shows, I met some Chinese from mainland China, and they all agreed to let me take their photo, so I could put it in the article when it was published.
My second time reporting on Shen Yun was in 2008. The experience helped me a great deal in my understanding of the Fa. A few of us went together to a different city to report on Shen Yun. While a few of us were having a meeting before the show, Master's words suddenly appeared in my head, “I'll be out the door before others are even ready” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York”). I realized that Master wanted me to go to the show quickly. Without saying a word, I left the meeting and went to the theater by myself. I managed to interview a lady sitting in front of me. It turned out that she was a writer that we had tried to interview before but were unable to. The chief editor was pleasantly surprised that I was able to interview her.
When Master’s Fa appears in our minds, it is by no means coincidental. It must be reminding us of something. We need to act on it as soon as possible, and then we will find out why it appeared. In later days, such things happened quite often. I later came to realize that this is part of our cultivation, to trust Master and take the Fa as our Teacher. Only if we enlighten to the Fa and accomplish what we need to do, can we say that we have followed Master's instructions.
We need to have strong righteous thoughts
I once had dealings with a famous human rights attorney in China for a long time. His phone was monitored and our conversations were often cut off, but I was able to call him every day after I sent forth righteous thoughts.
There was a situation in a province in China where tens of millions of people had been conned and lost a lot of money. When people gathered at the provincial office to protest, a local person told me that he would video record the proceedings on his cell phone and send it over to me. I was delighted at the thought of getting videos from China, and was very pleased with myself when mentioning it to others.
I later called this person, and he told me that the police had seen him taking pictures of the protest and had erased all of his recordings. I looked inward and found my attachment to showing off. The second time people gathered to protest, the person was able to successfully send me a video of the event. I watched it, and to my surprise, found that the part of the video that had supposedly been erased was there too. I knew that it was Master encouraging me. I eliminated my attachment of showing off and diligently did my reporting.
When the big earthquake occurred in Sichuan Province, I was able to get a lot of news that few other media were able to get. I got news about the nuclear leak, and was able to report on parents whose children were killed and the school principals, as well as on rescued and injured people. In my reporting of these incidents, I often got phone calls and leads from unlikely sources. I had over thirty reports in about twenty days.
I often reflect on such reporting that all seems to be ordinary people’s affairs, but we are practitioners and we need to save sentient beings. When things do not work well for us, then we must look inward to find out why. We need to identify our attachments and correct them. We are on the path of the divine. With the thoughts of a divine being, we will definitely do better and better.
