(Clearwisdom.net) The local street committee attempted to force Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Su Ping from Chongqing to write a guarantee statement, promising not to practice Falun Gong on September 28, 2011. Ms. Su refused to cooperate. Prior to this event, she had been imprisoned in a forced labor camp for one year and six months, from 2005 to 2007.
Ms. Su was physically disabled from a very young age and has difficulty walking. In the 1990s, she also developed a stomach disorder, a neurological disorder, and other health problems. She often could not sleep at night. In late 1998, she started practicing Falun Gong. Soon after, all of her diseases disappeared, and she became healthy and happy. She closely followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and benefited from the practice both physically and mentally. Her neighbors praised her new outlook and practice. However, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, she began experiencing repeated harassment by authorities.
On September 28, 2005, local police officer Wu Kan and a team of officers broke into Ms. Su's home; she wasn't there at the time. They pushed her husband, Liu Peigen, a non-practitioner, to the floor, then ransacked the home and broke several items. They also confiscated her Dafa books, videos, tapes, video recorders, radios, and other personal property, including 7,000 yuan ($1,104 USD). Afterwards, Wu Kan took Liu Peigen to the home of Ms. Su's brother, located at Xiaolongkan, Shapingba in Chongqing. They found Su Ping there and took her by force to the detention center. She was subsequently transferred to Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she was tortured for one and a half years. Along with other practitioners, Ms. Su was subjected to multiple torture sessions.
Ms. Su was finally released in March 2007 and lived in her sister's home. The local police there repeatedly called and harassed them, interfering with their daily lives.
In early September 2007, Ms. Su was just coming out of her home when two officers arrested her and took her to the police station. They ransacked the home, then released her several hours later.
On the evening before the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Lijiatuo police could not locate Ms. Su. They called her sister and demanded that Ms. Su report to the police station every day and submit to their Falun Gong practitioner monitoring program.
Ms. Su went to the bank to pick up her retirement pension on September 27, 2011, but was told that there were no money in her account. The bank staff told her to inquire at her work unit. This turned out to be a trap set by the police and street committee.
The next day, she brought her identification card and retirement certificate to the Social Security Bureau in the Yuzhong District of Chongqing (the Social Insurance Fund Management Bureau), but her documents and certificate were confiscated. An hour later, Dujuan, director of the Banan District Lijiatuo Street and Community Committee, along with Li Yajuan of the street social security office, He Huahong from the Judicial Department, and a photographer arrived. Li Yujuan and the others threatened her and demanded that she sign the guarantee statement that they'd written for her. They told her that she would be free of trouble after she signed it. Ms. Su refused.
Ms. Su was subsequently taken to the Lijiatuo Street office, where seven to eight people were waiting, including office director Yue Ying and officers Gong Yixiang and Chen from Lijiatuo Police Station, who threatened and intimidated her, causing her great distress.
Ms. Su cannot currently lead a normal life due to CCP harassment.
