Human Rights Day is celebrated annually all over the world on December 10 to honor the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation, on December 10, 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This year, practitioners in Brisbane held a morning event in Chinatown to expose the CCP persecution and promote withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
A bus carrying Chinese tourists stopped near the practitioners’ activity. Some of the tourists smiled and others were curious. Practitioners talked to them to let them know the facts and encourage them to quit the CCP.
One practitioner stood beside the bus and talked with the tourists. He said that more and more Chinese people now know the facts, “There's been a very big change. A couple of years ago, some people that did not understand cursed us and even wanted to attack us. This is a free country. Our events are legal. They did not dare to actually attack us. Now it is quite different. Many people have gradually learned the facts. They want to hear the explanations and look at the posters. I think more and more people will stay away from the CCP.”
The afternoon event to call for an end of human rights persecution in China was held on Brisbane Square.
It was the peak shopping season before Christmas, and there were many passersby. Some practitioners demonstrated the exercises, some distributed informational materials, and others collected signatures. Many people signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.
A practitioner who participated in the event said, “Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted in China. The CCP still harvests vital organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for lucrative profits. We are here today to tell everyone that China’s human rights are being trampled. We want everyone all over the world to know the facts about the persecution.”
