(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of November 17, 2011, Ms. Wen Yuhong, in her 50s, from Huanghua Town in the Huairou District of Beijing was arrested with her three-year-old granddaughter by officers from the local domestic security division. Ms. Wen was taken to the Shunyi District Detention Center. About 20 practitioners from the same area were also arrested that day.
Huairou Domestic Security Division and 610 Office agents proceeded to ransack Ms. Wen's home and took many personal belongings, worth more than 10,000 yuan. Five thousand yuan in cash that Ms. Wen and her husband earned by selling tofu was also taken.
Among the 20 practitioners that were arrested that same day were Ms. Jia Cuihuan, in her 40s, from Nanhua Vegetable Market; Ms. Sun Guiqing, about 60 years old from Qiaozi Town; Ms. Shi, in her 60s; Ms. Shen; and Ms. Wang, from Beijing.
Ms. Wen Yuhong is a farmer from Huanghua Town in the Huairou District. The whole family supports themselves by selling tofu. She has been persecuted many times for remaining steadfast in her spiritual belief, Falun Gong. Around March 2004, she was arrested. The authorities beat her until she was severely injured and could no longer take care of herself. Not only that, the local court sentenced her to four years in prison. While Ms. Wen was held in Daxing Prison in Beijing, someone had to carry her when she had to go upstairs or downstairs. When she was placed in “brainwashing sessions,” criminal inmates, Li Xiaomei and Liu Xiuqin, former Falun Gong practitioners who had gone astray, physically abused and mistreated Ms. Wen. Li grabbed Ms. Wen by her hair and slammed her head against a table. Liu kicked Ms. Wen's paralyzed legs.
Ms. Wen was released from prison around March 2008, and her health recovered within six months after she studied the Fa and did the exercises. She could then sell tofu again to support the family. Unfortunately, she's been arrested again.
