(Clearwisdom.net) I recently read an article on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website entitled “Opposing the Persecution Is Not that Difficult.” (http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2011/2/20/123360.html) I agreed with what the author discussed in the article. As a matter of fact, I hold the same opinion. I gained this understanding through cultivation and Fa study. I also shared my understanding with fellow practitioners in the Fa-study group or when they were having tribulations. At that time, I thought I understood the old forces' arrangements and that my understanding had surpassed theirs. I thought I had entirely negated the old forces. Cultivation was actually becoming simpler and I was confident that I could handle my future cultivation very well.
However, I found that in practice this was not easy to do. Understanding the true meaning of a Fa principle is when we are able to act on that principle. If my mind and behaviour were unstable, I would not be able to meet the standard. I must do well in cultivation by monitoring every single thought.
This is how I do it: When my human notions, thought karma, and human attachments pop up, I always say to myself: “That’s because he’s the master soul after all, and the master soul controls the body and calls the shots.” (Zhuan Falun). At that very instant, my true self steps out of those notions, or the thought karma and attachments. Then I eliminate them by sending forth righteous thoughts. As a result, those bad thoughts become weaker and diminish, while my true self becomes larger. My mind has become simpler and my righteous thoughts have become stronger. I have become more peaceful, more compassionate, and more steadfast.
Through cultivation I have firmly decided to follow only Master's arrangements. If I can let go of my sentimentality and feelings, I can eventually let go of my attachment to self and become a being that is fully assimilated to the Fa.
This is a personal understanding. Please kindly point out anything improper.
