(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sheng Yanqin, a resident of Anda City, Heilongjiang Province, suffered from persecution at Suihua Forced Labor Camp from late 2009 to early 2011. He was tortured brutally. He began to have blood in his stool, swelling of his body, lost consciousness numerous times, and was on the verge of dying. To shirk responsibility for his condition, labor camp authorities ordered his family to take him home. Following is background information:
Mr. Sheng was illegally arrested while distributing Falun Gong materials on November 16, 2009. He was held in the city detention center and was sentenced to two years of forced labor at the Suihua Labor Camp. He went on a hunger strike to protest. Nevertheless, the guards pried his mouth open with a metal tool to force-feed him.
1. Brutal Beatings
Mr. Sheng suffered from inhuman and brutal tortures in Suihua Labor Camp numerous times because he refused to renounce his faith by writing the “three statements.”
On his way to the toilet, to take the advantage of Mr. Sheng, guard Li Xichun tried to force him to recite the insulting “Report Chants” for criminals. Li was irritated at Mr. Sheng's refusal. Li picked up a glass and threw it at him, then dashed toward him and then kicked and struck him. Mr. Sheng fell to the floor, and got two deep cuts in his head, which bled for the entire morning.
The camp criminals brutally beat him numerous times. His head was swollen, and his back hurt so badly that he could not work. Furthermore, he began to have blood in his stool as the situation deteriorated. However, while he was frail, the guards forced him to “sit on a small stool” (a painful form of torture) instead of allowing him to lie down.

The guards forced Mr. Sheng to stand outside in the snow one day. Since he had suffered tortures and his health had deteriorated, the cold air made his breathing difficult and he could not stand up. After standing outside for an hour he lost consciousness and bowel control.
2. Government Officials Intentionally Violate the Law
When a kind-hearted person told Mr. Sheng’s worried father, in his eighties, of his son's whereabouts, he went to the camp the next day to see his son.
When the old man saw his son's frail and swollen body, he wanted to bail him out for medical treatment. The labor camp officials refused to let Mr. Sheng go. A guard said indifferently, “It’s not time yet.” That response startled the old man who then asked, “How sick will he have to be before he can be bailed out? When he is dying?”
One week after returning from the labor camp, Mr. Sheng’s father got a phone call from the labor camp, telling him to pick up his son right away. Mr. Sheng realized that this meant his son's condition was probably critical, surmising that the camp authorities would otherwise not have been willing to release him. The old man’s heart tightened. He did not dare to think about it any more. Anxious and worried, he traveled all the way back to Suihua where he met the head of the labor camp who told him, “Your son is sick; his stomach is bleeding, and he has blood in his stool. You need to sign the form to bail him out for medical treatment.” Before signing any paper, Mr. Sheng’s father wanted to see his son first. Nevertheless, the camp officials demanded the father stay in a designated hotel so that they could contact him when needed.
Mr. Sheng was on the verge of death on January 29, 2011. His body was cold, and he could not breathe. He was going in and out of consciousness. After 6 o’clock that evening, camp officials took him to the hospital.
While Mr. Sheng’s father had just checked in the hotel, a person from the labor camp arrived at the hotel to take him to the hospital. The father's heart hurt when he saw his son's swollen body and pale face. To shirk responsibility, the labor camp authorities forced the old man to sign the forms. The father refused and asked them, “My son was a healthy man when he came, now you have tortured him to the brink of death, and you want to shirk the responsibility, I can't do it.” They threatened him, “He must be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, you have to go back home, and you have to sign your name on paper and take him with you.” Finally, the labor camp section head Bai called the local police station and asked them to pick up Mr. Sheng.
3. Frequent Persecution Made Mr. Sheng’s Wife Leave Him
Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, Mr. Sheng was twice sentenced to five years of forced labor. The incarcerations and torture that came with them left Mr. Sheng physically and mentally devastated. The family suffered constant police harassment, home invasions and searches. Family property was confiscated. His family suffered from mental devastation and lived in constant fear. Hopeless and despondent, his wife left him, and his elderly father was left to live alone.
The communist regime has persecuted and grossly abused and mistreated a good person who wants to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Mr. Sheng’s once happy family has been broken. Kind-hearted people in the world, please help to stop the persecution.
