(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Chen Xiangrui, 29, was the son of a worker in Hengyang Power Accessory Parts Company. At 9 p.m. on March 11, 2003, a group of officers from the Hengyang Police Department led by Lei Zhenzhong, the head of the National Security Team of Hengyang's Public Security Bureau, broke down the door and swarmed into Mr. Chen's home.
They punched and kicked Mr. Chen, dragged him outside and threatened to beat him to death. Then they forced him into their van, shoving him face down under the seat with one officer stepping on his body. Dozens of people witnessed this incident, as the policemen were very loud and caused a big disturbance.
The agents took Mr. Chen to the Hengyang Police Department's Domestic Security Division. Upon arrival, they hung Mr. Chen up and assaulted him with electric batons, a hammer, and a rubber club. The officers interrogated and brutally tortured him all through the night. The next morning, Mr. Chen's breathing became extremely weak, and his pupils were dilated. As his condition was critical, the police sent him to the hospital. Mr. Chen died around 10 a.m. on March 12.

Shortly thereafter on the same day, the police took Mr. Chen's parents and other family members to a hotel. Later that night, accompanied by two trucks full of riot policemen with guns, the family members were allowed to go to see Mr. Chen's body. There was a clear dent on Mr. Chen's head; his ribs and collarbone were broken; the bones of his left foot and wrist were broken; and both feet were twisted. His mother hugged his body and cried out loudly.
The police then ordered an autopsy. Mr. Chen's mother objected, as her son's death was obviously a result of torture, but one officer told her: “It doesn't matter if you object. It is an order from my superiors.” The agents grabbed Mr. Chen's body and moved it away despite the mother's crying and objections.
Autopsies are usually performed by two or three coroners. However, on the evening of March 12, the police asked nine coroners to conduct Mr. Chen's autopsy. Many riot policemen with guns were stationed outside. After their examination, the coroners claimed that not a single organ in Mr. Chen's was good.
Mr. Chen's family later learned that one of the coroners had been Xiong Ping from the Medical College of Nanhua University. Mr. Chen's family members asked him about the autopsy many times. He finally said: “I can't tell you. I would be dead if I do.” Xiong Ping later moved to another city.
In 2006, it was exposed that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was harvesting organs without using anesthetics from Falun Gong practitioners while they were still alive. Mr. Chen's family recalled their encounter with the police and the coroners and started to suspect that Mr. Chen's organs may have been stolen.
Mr. Chen Xiangrui was an honest and kind young man. He started practicing Falun Gong in January 1996. Following the launch of the CCP's brutal persecution, Mr. Chen went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong three times: on October 27, 1999, on March 2, 2000, and in late April 2000. He was illegally detained in the Baishazhou Detention Center and the Detention House in Hengyang for his belief. In January 2001, Mr. Chen was arrested at home together with his mother and then held in a detention center for nearly half a year.
