(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yujing was illegally arrested by officers from the Shizhong District Police Sub-Bureau on November 16, 2010. She was tried by the Shizhong District Court on May 6, 2011. Ms. Liu's husband, Mr. Tian Fengyu, presented an indictment to the court on May 25, 2011. He filed a lawsuit against the police officers who violated the law by ransacking Ms. Liu's home, taking her way and presenting false evidence.
The following are the main points of the indictment:
-
Ms. Liu Yujing has followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance since she started practicing Falun Gong. Her health improved dramatically and she became more energetic. Falun Gong teaches people to become truly good people. Her temperament changed for the better, and she took good care of her mother-in-law and her kids.
-
The Shizhong District Sub-Bureau charged Ms. Liu with “harming the society.” Who or which group was harmed by Ms. Liu's behavior? Who is the victim? Nobody. They also charged Ms. Liu with “sabotaging law enforcement.” Which law was sabotaged by Ms. Liu? Not a single one.
-
The Shizhong District Sub-Bureau listed many of the confiscated personal items from ransacking Ms. Liu's home as “evidence.” Included in these items were large prints of the word “Fu” (meaning “good fortune”), hardly evidence of criminal activity.
-
There is no law in China that states “Propagating your faith is a crime.” There are laws in Hong Kong and Macao that states “Citizens have the right to propagate their faith.” According to the basic law of principles, she has committed no crime.
At the end of the indictment, Mr. Tian made several requests to the court:
-
Nullify the arrest warrant of Ms. Liu and acquit her of any charge;
-
The Shizhong District Sub-Bureau should compensate Ms. Liu for the physical and mental damages;
-
The Shizhong District Sub-Bureau should write a guarantee statement that they will never again persecute Falun Gong practitioners and publicize it;
-
The Shizhong District Sub-Bureau should reimburse the family for the expenses of litigation.
