(Clearwisdom.net) On April 24, 2008, the Benxi Police Department in Liaoning Province arrested 40 Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. Jiang Lei from Huanren County. At 7:30 a.m that day, Ms. Jiang was taken away in front of her home by several officers who had driven two police vehicles to her home. The police also ransacked her home and took away a desktop computer, laptop, printer, cell phone, and other property. Ms. Jiang was taken to the Huanren Detention Center. Later on, she was sentenced to five years in prison and sent to the Elderly and Disabled Division of Shenyang Women's Prison, which is called “the Eleventh Division.”
Torture reenactment: Death Bed
Liaoning Women's Prison tortured Ms. Jiang in every way possible to try to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong. Between November 3 and 15, 2010, the guards handcuffed Ms. Jiang's hands and feet to a metal bed, separately. This is called the “death bed” torture. As a result, Ms. Jiang developed tuberculosis and heart problems. Her recent condition is unknown.
Ms. Liu Zhi from Shenyang was taken away in front of her residence by six policemen on July 12, 2011. She was taken to the Liaoning Women's Prison. At the time, she was in very good health. However, when her family went to visit her in September 2011, they found her on the verge of death and in need of emergency treatment even though the guards said she was fine. When Ms. Liu's family went to visit her in November 2011, she said she could not feel anything in her lower body and was incontinent. However, the guards still did not allow her to be released on bail for emergency treatment.
Ms. Hu Zhehui from Panjin City, Liaoning Province, 46, was tortured to the verge of death in the First Division of Liaoning Women's Prison. She is 5'5” tall but only weighed about 90 pounds.
Ms. Zhao Xue from Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was tortured to the point of disfigurement. She is confined to a wheelchair and is skin and bones. Her weight dropped from about 170 to 90 pounds. She also lost all her teeth.
