(Minghui.org) Ever since Zhou Yongkang, head of the Chinese Communist Party's Political and Legislative Affairs Committee and one of the chief perpetrators of the persecution of Falun Gong, visited Chengdu, Sichuan Province, in October 2012, the Dazhou City 610 Office and Domestic Security Division have directed the Wanyuan City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division to monitor and arrest Falun Gong practitioners. Four practitioners, Zhang Zhenhua, Tang Maoting, Wang Xianyin and Zhang Lihua, were arrested. Several practitioners had to leave their homes to avoid further persecution.
Ms. Zhang Zhenhua Arrested and Thrown into a Labor Camp for Twelve Months
Ms. Zhang Zhenhua is a Falun Gong practitioner in her sixties. Wang Qiang, Liu Xi and others from the Wanyuan City Domestic Security Division, together with police from the Dongcheng Police Station, went to Ms. Zhang's home on Oct. 24, 2012. They tricked Ms. Zhang into opening the door, arrested her, searched her home, and took her Falun Dafa books, a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, about one thousand yuan in cash, her computer, printer and other property. Ms. Zhang was sent to the First Detention Center of Wanyuan City and was later thrown into a forced labor camp for twelve months.
Mr. Tang Maoting and Wife Wang Xianyin Arrested and Robbed
Mr. Tang Maoting, a fifty-eight-year-old farmer living in suburban Wanyuan City, and his wife Wang Xianying, were arrested by Wang Qiang, Liu Xi and others from the Domestic Security Division, 610 Office, Hexi Police Station and Dazhuhe Police Station on Oct. 25, 2012. They broke into the couple's home, ransacked it and video recorded the process.
Mr. Tang and his wife attempted the stop them. Wang Qiang made a call and brought more than ten armed police officers. They surrounded the house, took the couple's Falun Dafa books, portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, MP3 player, CDs and other personal property. They dragged the couple downstairs and took them away in a police car. Mr. Tang was given a fifteen-day detention, and his wife Mrs. Wang was released later that day in the evening.
Mr. Tang launched a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On the sixth day of the hunger strike, the detention center doctor said that Mr. Tang's physical condition was deteriorating. The detention center director and employees called the 610 Office and Ye Xudong, the head of the Domestic Security Division, several times, asking if Mr. Tang could be released.
Ye Xudong and the deputy director of the police department went to the detention center to look into Mr. Tang's condition on Nov. 1. Wang Qiang finally sent him back home that evening.
Outstanding Teacher Ms. Zhang Lihua Arrested and Sent to Brainwashing Session
Ms. Zhang Lihua is an outstanding teacher at Hongqi Elementary School of Wanyuan City. Wanyuan City 610 Office, Ye Xudong, Wang Qiang from the Domestic Security Division and police officers from the Hexi Police Station arrested her from her home, confiscated her computer, printer, MP3 player, MP4 player and other personal property, and robbed her of thousands of yuan in cash. She was detained in the First Detention Center of Wanyuan City until she was sent to a brainwashing session in Dazhou City two weeks ago.
Attempted Arrests
Several Falun Gong practitioners in Wanyuan City were harassed and monitored between August and November, 2012.
Eight people from the Wanyuan City 610 Office, Domestic Security Division and the Hexin Police Station went to the Train Station Brickyard in mid-October, attempting to arrest Falun Gong practitioners Liu Fangrun and his wife. After close to two hours of stalemate, the arrest attempt failed.
