(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhu Yifang was an officer with the Guangyuan City Government Agency Office in Chengdu. She was illegally detained several times and tortured. She became emaciated, and her feet were swollen and had festered. She died at the age of 49 at about 9:00 a.m. on the morning of March 6, 2012.
Li Chongxi, deputy head of the Sichuan Province Chinese Communist Party Committee, signed orders to persecute Ms. Zhu as a key member of Falun Gong in Sichuan. Under direct supervision from the Sichuan Province 610 Office, Ms. Zhu was the subject of systematic maltreatment.
On September 29, 2002, Ms. Zhu was arrested and taken to the Chengdu Detention Center. She was later covered with a black plastic bag and taken to an unknown location by officers from the Jiulidi Police Station. She was hung up in a dark room for seven days and seven nights.
On the afternoon of April 25, 2006, officers from the Guangyuan City Police Department went to her office and arrested her. Ms. Zhu was taken to the Guangyuan City Detention Center. The police and criminals in the detention center put her in handcuffs and shackles on a death bed in the position of "Five Horses Splitting the Body,” and force-fed her. Sichuan Province 610 Office gave orders to the detention center to torture her to death. The prison doctor gave Ms. Zhu some unknown injections which caused sharp pain, and she was shivering all over. The force-feeding and injections were done repeatedly each day from morning until night.

On October 8, 2006, the Wangcang County Court in Guangyuan sentenced Ms. Zhu to seven years in Chengdu Women's Prison. She became ill after being tortured in prison and was taken to the Chengdu Police Hospital. Four male criminals held her down on the bed and tied her hands and feet up to the four corners of the bed with cloth. Her abdomen and knees were also bound. She was infused with two bottles of unknown drugs at the beginning, and it was later increased to eight bottles. As a result, she suffered vascular pains and had a bloated stomach.
Her younger sister and son came to visit her in the hospital in June 2009. It had been only six months since their last visit, but even her son could barely recognize her.

Ms. Zhu's situation didn't improve in the police hospital. Instead, she was on the verge of death. One head nurse threatened another elderly practitioner, “You've got to follow the rules, otherwise, we will treat you the same as we treated Zhu Yifang.” As a result, Ms. Zhu's blood vessels were messed up and they could not find a good place to inject her, so they could not do any more injections. The hospital put out an imminent death notice several times. The doctor said that she could only live for a few days at the most. At that time, the staff members from the Sichuan Province 610 Office went to the hospital to investigate and saw that she could barely breathe, and they thought she was going to die in the hospital. Only then did they agree to allow her relatives to carry her out of the hospital.
Ms. Zhu was able to get out of being in critical condition with her family's care and her practice of Falun Gong, but she was still weak. One officer from the Guangyuan City 610 Office said angrily, “It took us a lot of effort to get her into prison. Why is she being released? If she dies, she should die in prison!” In an attempt to take Ms. Zhu back to prison, in early January 2010, the Chengdu Women's prison sent personnel to her home. Ms. Zhu left home after she learned the news.
Ms. Zhu's health kept deteriorating during her days in exile. She died on March 6, 2012.
