(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Guo Chengru started practicing Falun Gong in May of 1997. She benefited so much that she firmly believe in Dafa and actively spread the practice. She often told people about the magnificence of Dafa. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, Ms. Guo refused to be “transformed.” Consequently she has suffered long-term torture and has twice been sentenced and imprisoned. She is still in prison. Due to the persecution, her happy family has been shattered.
All diseases cured after practicing Falun Gong
Prior to practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Guo suffered rectal prolapse and a skin allergy on her face. When the allergy was severe, her eyes were so swollen that she could barely open them. These problems all disappeared after she started practicing Falun Gong. One time when she was doing the exercises at a group practice site, she suddenly felt dizzy and almost fainted. A practitioner near her supported her so that she didn't fall. Since then she has always felt warm, whereas before she used to feel very cold all over. Having experienced that Falun Gong was truly miraculous, Ms. Guo organized a group practice site. Her whole family also started practicing Falun Gong. Following the principles of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance), she became kind. She often cleaned the public space shared with her neighbors. She learned to cook, respected her parents, and took good care of her children. Her family was happy and harmonious.
Illegally sentenced to forced labor camp in Shanghai
Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999. Guo Chengru appealed in Beijing for the right to practice Falun Dafa. As a result, she was placed on the wanted list by the Tianjin Public Security Bureau. The police from the Tianjin Public Security Bureau, Hexi Division, and the local police station harassed and threatened her mother daily. To avoid further persecution, Ms. Guo went to Shanghai, where she persistently clarified the truth. In March of 2000, she was illegally arrested and subsequently imprisoned in Shanghai Qingpu Woman's Forced Labor Camp for two years.
In detention, Ms. Guo refused to be “transformed.” She was tortured with “hanging and handcuffing,” “handcuffing from behind,” etc. Her family was not allowed to visit her. To protest the torture, she went on a hunger strike. Finally, camp authorities allowed Ms. Guo's family to have a “special visit.” Her family saw that her wrists were injured and her feet were swollen. Those in charge had forced her to take an unknown drug. As a result, she was mentally disturbed by the time she was released two years later. She could not even recognize her own home and needed someone to take care of her.
Sentenced to a forced labor camp for the second time
Ms. Guo steadfastly refused to be “transformed.” In November of 2002, staff from the local street committee came to her home. She was still mentally unstable at that time. They deceived her and told her that they would take her to the forced labor camp to see her father (who was in the camp because he practiced Falun Gong). Instead they took her to Tianjin Tanggu Brainwashing Center. She went on a hunger strike in protest. On November 18, 2002, she was sentenced to one and half years in Banqiao Forced Labor Camp.
In order to “transform” her, over ten people including director Pan, director Li, and chief Zhang threatened and insulted her. She went on a hunger strike again. As a result, she was beaten every day. The inmates were encouraged to force-feed her. Inmate Chen Qian, who had been involved in prostitution, was ordered to slap Ms.. Guo in the face. She claimed, “I can kill you. If I kill you, I won't be held responsible for your death. On the contrary, the director will award me and shorten my term.” In addition, the labor camp repeatedly extorted money from Ms. Guo's work unit. The sum reached 10,000 yuan. During the several years that she was detained, her work unit stopped paying her salary.
Sentenced to four years in prison, her family shattered
In September of 2004, Guo Chengru was sentenced to four years in prison by Hexi District Court for distributing Falun Gong truth materials. Because of the repeated persecution that she suffered, her family sustained tremendous pain. During her detention, the CCP staff persuaded her husband to divorce her. Their son now lives with his father. This practitioner's family was shattered.
Sentenced to four years in prison for the second time and currently imprisoned
In 2009, Ms. Guo had employment as the guide for patients at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin Medical College. On the afternoon of December 9, she was clarifying the truth to the patients in the outpatient hall in the first building in the hospital. She gave the patients a note that read “Falun Dafa is good.” Officers from the Hexi District Youyi Road Police Station came and arrested her. At 10:00 p.m., the police went to her home and ransacked it. They confiscated a computer, a TV set, 900 yuan in cash, and Dafa informational materials. Ms. Guo was subsequently detained in the Hexi District Wushui Detention Center. The Hexi Public Security Bureau was involved in her case and she was tried in Hexi Court.
On May 11, 2010, Guo Chengru's parents went to bring her some clothes in the detention center. When they arrived, they saw that their daughter's left eye was injured. They asked the police what had happened. The police replied that it had resulted from forced-feeding.
That same year, Guo Chengru was sentenced to four years in Tianjin Woman's Prison. Because the court restricted the news of her sentence, her family did not know where she was until six months later when the prison invited them to visit.
