(Clearwisdom.net) Huining County Court in Gansu Province held a trial for Falun Gong practitioners He Yuhu, Han Xiufang, Jin Yinwu, and Feng Caihong on February 28, 2012. The practitioners' lawyers pointed out that, according to Chinese law, the practitioners are not only innocent of any wrongdoing, but everything they do (letting people know about the truth of Falun Gong) is also protected by law. Faced with the righteous lawyers' defense, the judges were speechless.
On the day of the trial, the Huining County government acted as though they were facing a formidable enemy. Every road leading to the county was guarded by police officers. The exterior of the court building was surrounded by police officers and all the streets around the court were closed and the traffic was stopped. Only two family members of each practitioner were allowed to attend the court proceedings. They had to bring their IDs and household registration documents to the community office and obtain a permit to attend the trial.
Observing the police officers and court officials' tense preparations, local residents who planned to attend the trial said: “They must be afraid of letting people learn the truth and they must be hiding something. It seems that if we want to know the truth, we have to ask Falun Gong practitioners.”
